This lesser-known gem in Southern Utah offers a unique contrast to the rugged canyons and red rock cliffs of Zion and Bryce—providing both a visual feast and a playground for adventurous spirits.
Formed over thousands of years by wind-blown Navajo sandstone, the dunes are constantly shifting and reshaping, creating ever-changing waves of soft, coral-colored sand. These surreal landscapes are ideal for exploration, photography, and fun-filled activities.

Why We Love It:
Coral Pink Sand Dunes offers something truly unique: a space where childlike play and desert stillness exist side by side. Whether you’re racing down dunes on a board, watching the wind shape the sand in real time, or sitting quietly at the crest of a ridge taking it all in, this experience invites a different kind of presence—one that’s rooted in joy, awe, and freedom. All entrance fees and equipment are included with your retreat. Just bring your sense of adventure.
12:30 PM: Lunch or snack break in Kanab
1:30 PM: Drive to Kanarra Falls Trailhead (approx. 45 min drive)
2:15 PM: Hike Kanarra Falls | Slot Canyon Adventure with Waterfalls & Ladders
(Permits Required – Included with Your Retreat)
Nestled just outside of Zion National Park, Kanarra Falls offers one of Southern Utah’s most memorable and photogenic hiking experiences. This moderately challenging trail winds through a stunning slot canyon, where adventure and serenity come together in a truly unique way.
The hike begins on a dirt path that quickly leads into Kanarra Creek, where you’ll spend a good portion of the journey walking through cool, flowing water. As the canyon narrows, you’re surrounded by towering red rock walls that twist and rise dramatically overhead—creating a surreal, almost cathedral-like atmosphere.
What sets Kanarra Falls apart are its natural waterfalls and manmade wooden ladders, which allow hikers to continue deeper into the canyon. Climbing these ladders and navigating the shallow creek offers just enough challenge to feel adventurous, while still being accessible to most hikers with a moderate fitness level.
Highlights:
- A scenic 3.5 to 4-mile round-trip hike (depending on how far you go)
- Towering slot canyon walls and beautifully carved sandstone passageways
- Wading through ankle- to knee-deep water for much of the route
- Climbing wooden ladders beside waterfalls for a fun, hands-on challenge
- Incredible photo opportunities and peaceful moments surrounded by nature
Good to Know:
- Permits are required and included as part of your all-inclusive retreat experience
- Proper footwear is essential—water shoes or hiking sandals with good traction are highly recommended
- This hike is weather dependent; heavy rain can create flash flood risk, so conditions are closely monitored
Kanarra Falls is the perfect blend of beauty and adventure—an unforgettable highlight that invites you to slow down, engage your senses, and fully experience the wonder of the Southwest's canyon landscapes.
