From May 16th to 18th, we are offering you a return to the basics.

This is the Essence of Spain—a genuine, unfiltered journey that no guidebook can explain and no other operator will take you on. It is a rare opportunity to peel back the layers of the tourist map and taste the living soul of this land.

Join us. Return to the basics. Taste the essence.

Your Journey into the Authentic:

  • The Pulse of Segovia: Forget the buses. We will enter the heart of Castile as travelers once did—on horseback. We will ride through the "colorful villages," where the red and black earth tells stories of a time before crowds. And when the riding is done, we will gather around the table for the sacred ritual of the Castilian roast—flavors of wood smoke, clay ovens, and bread that tastes of the grain, paired with wines that carry the history of the soil.

  • The Whispers of Numancia: We will stand on the legendary grounds of the archaeological site of Numancia, where history is felt. Numancia is the eternal symbol of resistance—a city that chose to burn rather than surrender to the Roman Empire, a people who valued freedom above existence itself. Here, in the highlands of Soria, you will discover a gastronomy of resistance and delight: the world-renowned "Torrezno de Soria".

  • The Vertical Beauty of Alquezar: We journey north to Huesca, to the medieval village of Alquezar. We will walk the spectacular footbridges over the Vero River, suspended between limestone walls and emerald waters. Afterward, we toast to the view with the liquid gold of the D.O. Somontano wines—vines grown in the foothills of the Pyrenees, offering a sip of the landscape itself.

  • The Call of Ainsa: Our journey ends on the cobbled streets of Ainsa. Choose your primitive tribe: hike ancient trails, feel the adrenaline rush of world-class mountain biking, or indulge in the flavors of tapas in the town center.

This is Primitivo Travel.

We believe in the transformational power of returning to the origin. This is a Spain that doesn’t appear in brochures—a Spain of deep connection, virgin nature, millenary traditions, and gastronomy that feeds the soul.

Don't miss this. It’s more than a pre-conference trip; it is the story you will be telling for years to come.

Colorful Villages & The Silent Castile

The Escape Begins.
Our journey back to the origin starts at Chamartín Station, Madrid. Here, our private van awaits to whisk you away from the modern roar of the capital, heading north into the deep, quiet heart of the Segovia province. As the skyline fades, the landscape transforms—we are entering the untamed lands near the historic enclave of Riaza.
Transfer time: 1h 30 min

Riding Through the Canvas.
Upon reaching our sanctuary—a charming historic hotel reserved exclusively for our tribe—we leave the engines behind and trade them for a more primal mode of transport. We mount our horses. 🐴

This is not a typical trail ride. We will navigate a rarely traveled territory, a hidden chromatic wonder known as the "Colorful Villages." You will ride through hamlets where the architecture is born from the earth itself: villages built in deep slate blacks, vibrant ferruginous reds, and striking quartzite yellows.

Wild Connection.
Between the mountains and the gorges, the silence is only broken by the sound of hooves and the wind. Keep your eyes open; in this raw ecosystem, we are the visitors. It is common to share the path with roe deer and foxes, while the great griffon vultures patrol the skies above us.🐦‍⬛

A Toast to the Roots. As the sun sets over the Castilian plain, we return to our hotel, a place of stone and history that is ours alone for the night. We will gather around the table for a welcome dinner, celebrating the start of this adventure. Glasses will be raised high with bold Castilian wine—a toast to new friends, ancient lands, and the journey ahead. 🍷

Land of Resistance & The Hidden North

Into the Unknown.
We are on the move. As we leave Segovia, we head deep into the province of Soria. This is the "Empty Spain"—a land of vast horizons and profound silence, often overlooked even by locals. It is one of the least explored regions in the country, and for us, that is exactly its appeal.
Transfer time: 1h 45 min

The Spirit of Numancia.
At the confluence of the Duero and Tera rivers, beneath the shadow of the Muela hill, lies the soul of ancient Spain: Numancia.

This is not merely an archaeological site; it is a monument to human will. Here, the Celtiberian tribes defied the might of the Roman Empire. Numancia is the eternal symbol of resistance—a city that chose to burn rather than surrender, a people who valued freedom above existence itself. Walking these ruins, we don't just see stones; we feel the "Numantine spirit" that still defines the character of this land. It is a story that shocked the ancient world and still resonates today as a testament to honor.

A Taste of the Highlands.
After absorbing the weight of history, we break for lunch in a local tavern. We will taste the honest flavors of the Soria highlands.

Chasing the Sunset to Alquezar.
The afternoon calls us North. We continue our road trip, watching the landscape shift from the high plateaus to the dramatic limestone architecture of the Pre-Pyrenees. Our destination is Alquezar, a medieval jewel perched above the Vero River. It is widely considered one of the most surprising villages in Spain. Once there, our druid will guide us through its streets on a Street Wisdom tour.
Transfer time: 3h 15 min

Day 3 - May 18th

Vertical Waters & The Crossroads of Adventure

Suspended in Time.
It is the final day of our journey, but the pulse of adventure only quickens. We wake up in Alquezar to walk the Pasarelas del Vero (Footbridge Trail). This is not just a walk; it is an immersion into the canyon. We will traverse elevated walkways bolted into the limestone cliffs, suspended over the turquoise waters of the Vero River. It is a morning of fresh air, vertical landscapes, and the raw beauty of the Pre-Pyrenees.
Distance: 3km/ Elevation gain: 180 m+

The Call of Ainsa: Choose Your Path.
We move deeper into the mountains to Ainsa, a medieval fortress town where time seems to have stopped in the Middle Ages. But don't let the stone walls fool you; this is the capital of adventure. Transfer time: 1h 15 min.

Here, you define your experience, based on three of Primitivo Travel's tribes:

  • The Warriors: Grab an e-bike and ride the legendary trails of Zona Zero, a world-renowned mecca for mountain biking.
    Distance: 26km/ Elevation gain: 808m+

  • The Hunters: Lace up your boots for a hike through ancient paths, surrounded by the silent giants of the Pyrenees.
    Distance: 8-10km / Time: 2,5-3 h.

  • The Collectors: Get lost in the cobbled streets of the old town, hopping from bar to bar, tasting local tapas, and soaking in the atmosphere of the Plaza Mayor.

The Torch is Passed.
As the afternoon cools, we begin our final ascent toward the Val d'Aran. We have taken you back to the origins. We have ridden the plains, touched the history of resistance, and walked the canyons. Now, we deliver you to Vielha, refreshed, inspired, and connected. Transfer time: 1h 45 min.

The Primitivo journey concludes here, but the story continues.

Adventure ELEVATE Catalonia 2026 awaits.

Here we go!
