This trip was amazing! It had 3 parts - Johannesburg, which brought us face to face with the horrors of Apartheid and with the people and history of Soweto, as well as the legacy of Mandela. Next was Kruger, where we communed with wild animals and stayed in a train converted to a hotel! Last was Cape Town, with all of its glitz, glamour and sophistication. A highlight was dinner at the Giles home with an award-winning chef. In every phase our guides were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They made us feel comfortable and we began to feel like natives!! All accommodations and food were top class! The only suggestion I have is to build in one “free” day. I needed a day to rest , rejuvenate and gird up for the rest of the marvelous adventure!! Truly this was a trip of a lifetime!!
