Hello, Artists! Escape to the mountains with fellow creatives this spring for a weekend of exploration and inspiration. The Smokies are idyllic in May- with wildflowers beginning to dance and waterfalls growing heavy with melted snow from on high. If you’re feeling burnt out, drained, or overwhelmed— this long weekend getaway is for you.

Overview
Receive your very own trip-exclusive journal and watercolor kit and feel free to paint landscapes, draw doodles, or write out your next story. Artists and art-lovers of all skill level and kind are welcome. The journal and art supplies are a gift to you to use however you like!
Relax at our accommodation- The Richeson House, a Georgian style home built in 1925 and still retaining eclectic character. Get to know fellow artists over coffee in the garden, explore the small towns of Hazelwood and Waynesville, and enjoy local delights at bakeries and restaurants nearby. Be inspired by the beauty of Lake Junaluska and scenic overlooks of the gorgeous Smoky Mountains!

Hello! I'm Laura. My favorite thing about traveling is visiting the most gorgeous parts of our world, meeting interesting people, and capturing memories along the way.
I decided to combine those loves into a series of seasonal trips called: Storytraveller Artists' Retreats. It's the perfect opportunity to getaway from worry and obligation and set aside time to recharge and create. This spring, we're headed to the Smoky Mountains- one of my favorite places on this earth.
We'll have plenty of time to paint, write, read, take photographs- any artistic pursuit you love. Between each creative session we'll visit local natural wonders and share meals together at our accommodation, atop a mountain, and in the nearby small towns!
