About this trip

Going on retreat offers an opportunity to let down the stresses of life, to be nourished by the north woods, and deepen your yoga, meditation, and pranayama practices.  You will learn Ayurvedic self-care rituals as well as lifestyle and practice recommendations to align harmoniously with the season, so your health and well-being may flourish.

The Christine Center, 3 hours northwest from Madison, is nestled in the tranquil woods of northern Wisconsin on 125 acres, offering a nurturing and supportive environment for deepening practice and connection. The retreat center is run by a group of Franciscan nuns and for 30 years has been a center open to all paths of faith and spirituality.

The Christine Center offers four kinds of modest accommodations, including: both modern and rustic hermitages that are unique and simple, guest house rooms, and tent camping spots. Both single, double, and triple occupancy are available.

(10-hours of continuing education are available for Yoga Alliance registered teachers)

Yoga was gentle and relaxing. Food was surprisingly good. My cabin was rustic. My bedroom was so small, the twin bed filled half the room. I didn’t realize I’d be sharing a cabin with another person. I was grateful the shower was modern and wonderful.

Hi Carol, I am so glad we were able to retreat together! I am so sorry to hear you did not did not realize booked a shared cabin and could be sharing a room in a cabin with another person. When registering you choose the cabin bedroom single, the description is included below. The Cabin Bedrooms, have a private bedroom and shared living space. The rustic or modern hermitage singles are cabins where you do not share a cabin and you have the cabin to yourself. I am happy to give you a discount on your next retreat and will update the descriptions to hopefully be more clear in the future. Cabin Bedroom Single A private room within a house or hermitage with a shared kitchen/kitchenette, sitting area, and bathroom. With care, Andrea

Everything I'd hoped for and more! Andrea was so welcoming, warm, and personable. I loved her yoga class and hope to take more in Madison. The location was perfect too - beautiful, serene, clean. I felt safe there and was able to fully focus on my goals for this retreat. One zillion stars out of five - I hope to do this again soon!

Food and beverages were amazing -- some of the best I have ever enjoyed. The grounds were impeccable. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff was kind and accommodating and had a great sense of humor, too! The retreat leader and assistant were simply the best. Wherever they travel I travel!

Stunning jungle setting at the Imiloa Institute with amazing gourmet vegan meals and mocktails. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable. Andrea yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic teachings are heartfelt and skillful, and enhanced by her radiant positivity. And Rebecca's yoga later in the day kept me grounded all day. The excursions were exciting and beautiful...on the mangrove kayaking trip we saw sloths, monkeys, and so many lovely birds. Everything is so well planned and top notch!

My time at the Christine Center for Andrea's retreat was just wonderful. I came away not just feeling refreshed and centered, but with actual tools to move forward with...and so much to think about! Andrea embodies all of the things she talks about, you can see it...feel it. Her knowledge of Ayurveda, the body, nature, and how it all ties into each other, is incredible. Anyone who has the opportunity to experience learning from Andrea should make it a priority to do so!
