DAY 1

ARRIVE SRI LANKA

Once you arrive at Colombo International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your beachside hotel in Negombo. After checking in, you’ll meet your group leader and fellow travelers, who will share an introduction to Sri Lanka, along with helpful travel tips and local insights.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax after your journey. You may choose to unwind by the pool, enjoy a walk along the beach, or simply rest at the resort.

In the evening, we will gather for a welcome dinner by the ocean, featuring a relaxed setting, tropical flavors, and the chance to get to know your travel companions.

SIGIRIYA LION’S ROCK

Today we travel to Sigiriya.

On arrival, we experience a Traditional Village Tour in the surrounding countryside. This includes a scenic bull cart ride through rural paths, followed by a calm catamaran (catamaran-style) ride across a lake, offering beautiful views of the landscape and village life.

We then arrive at a traditional Sri Lankan house, where we take part in a Cooking Demonstration and learn how to prepare Authentic Sri Lankan curries. Afterward, we enjoy a freshly prepared local lunch.

In the afternoon, we visit the famous Sigiriya Lion Rock for a climb. As the day cools and the sunlight softens, it becomes an ideal time to ascend. Along the way, our local guide shares stories and history of this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site, once a royal citadel over 1,000 years ago, offering both cultural insight and breathtaking views from the top.

MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

Enjoy a relaxed morning at the hotel, taking time to unwind before experiencing one of Sri Lanka's most treasured wellness traditions.

Around midday, you'll visit a Traditional Ayurvedic wellness centre for a rejuvenating full-body massage. Using time-honoured Ayurvedic techniques and natural herbal oils, this relaxing treatment is designed to restore balance, ease tension, and leave you feeling refreshed in both body and mind.

In the afternoon, we'll head to Minneriya National Park for an unforgettable wildlife safari. Keep an eye out for majestic Asian elephants roaming freely in their natural habitat, along with deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and an impressive variety of colourful birdlife.

After an exciting day of wellness and wildlife, return to Sigiriya for your overnight stay.

KANDY CITY EXPLORATION

In the morning, we drive to Kandy. En route, we visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, one of the best-preserved cave temple complexes in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fascinating temple features centuries-old wall paintings, impressive Buddhist statues, and beautifully decorated cave shrines that showcase Sri Lanka's rich cultural and religious heritage.

Continuing our journey to Kandy, we stop at a Herbal Garden to learn about Sri Lanka's traditional medicinal plants and spices.

Later in the evening, we attend the vibrant Kandy Cultural Show, featuring traditional Sri Lankan music, drumming, dance performances, and a spectacular fire-walking and fire-dancing display.

After the show, we return to the hotel and spend the night in Kandy.

CEYLON TEA TASTING SESSION

In the morning, we visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, one of the most revered Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka. We explore the temple during the morning Thewawa ceremony, witnessing traditional rituals and receiving blessings.

Afterward, we travel to Nuwara Eliya. En route, we stop at the beautiful Ramboda Waterfall, one of Sri Lanka's most picturesque waterfalls, surrounded by lush mountain scenery.

We then visit a working tea plantation and tea factory, where you will gain insight into the tea-making process from leaf to cup. Enjoy a hands-on tea-plucking experience, tour the factory, and sample fresh, world-famous Pure Ceylon Tea at its source. You will also have the opportunity to purchase authentic Ceylon tea directly from the estate.

After a leisurely morning, we'll board one of the world's most scenic train journeys to Ella. Sit back and relax as the train winds its way through the breathtaking hill country, passing rolling tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, charming villages, lush vegetable gardens, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque valleys.

Travelling through a series of tunnels and around spectacular mountain curves, this iconic rail journey offers countless opportunities to take in the stunning scenery and capture unforgettable photographs.

Upon arrival in Ella, we'll transfer to our hotel for the evening and enjoy an overnight stay.

LIPTON'S SEAT

In the morning, we visit Lipton's Seat, one of Sri Lanka's most iconic viewpoints. This scenic lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views over the surrounding hills and vast tea plantations that were once part of the estate of Sir Thomas Lipton, the pioneer of the world-famous Lipton Tea brand.

After enjoying the views, we return to Ella and visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge, an architectural masterpiece nestled amidst lush greenery. Take time to capture memorable photographs of this picturesque landmark and, if lucky, witness a train crossing the bridge.

Later, we'll travel to Yala, where you'll check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure. Take time to unwind by the pool, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or simply soak up the atmosphere before the next day's adventures.

YALA GAME DRIVE

Today is dedicated to an unforgettable full-day safari in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka's most famous wildlife reserve and home to one of the highest densities of leopards in the world.

Accompanied by an experienced safari guide, you'll spend the day exploring the park's diverse landscapes of forests, grasslands, lagoons, and rocky outcrops in search of its remarkable wildlife. While the elusive Sri Lankan leopard is the star attraction, you'll also have the chance to spot sloth bears, Asian elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, spotted deer, wild boar, monkeys, and an incredible variety of colourful birdlife.

With plenty of time to explore different areas of the park, a full-day safari offers the best opportunity to experience Yala's rich biodiversity and observe its wildlife in their natural habitat.

GALLE FORT WALK

We travel to Sri Lanka's beautiful south coast. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy some time to relax and unwind by the beach.

In the afternoon, we visit Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of a fortified colonial city in Asia. Explore its charming cobblestone streets, historic buildings, boutique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafés while enjoying stunning views from the ocean-facing ramparts.

After exploring the fort, we return to the hotel for a relaxed evening and overnight stay on the south coast.

MADU RIVER SAFARI EXPERIENCE

This morning, we'll travel to the beautiful Madu River for a relaxing boat safari through its tranquil mangrove forests. As we cruise along the waterways, we'll discover the region's unique ecosystem, visit a traditional cinnamon island to learn about the cultivation of Sri Lanka's famous cinnamon, and pass small islands dotted with temples and local villages.

After the river safari, we'll return to the hotel. Along the way, we'll visit a traditional moonstone mine to discover how these beautiful gemstones are mined and crafted. We'll also stop at a local handloom weaving centre, where you'll see skilled artisans creating colourful textiles using traditional techniques.

There will also be an opportunity to visit a traditional mask museum and workshop, where you'll learn about the history and cultural significance of Sri Lanka's beautifully handcrafted wooden masks.

Later, we head to the coast to witness the iconic stilt fishermen in action during sunset. This unique traditional fishing method provides an excellent opportunity for colorful photographs against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. You may even have the chance to try your hand at fishing and interact with the local fishermen.

In the evening, we gather for a memorable group dinner at one of the south coast's beautiful restaurants, where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine and reflect on the experiences of your journey together.

DEPARTURE SRI LANKA

After breakfast, enjoy your final moments in Sri Lanka before transferring to Colombo International Airport for your departure flight.
