About your trip

St Andrews, Falkland Palace & Dunfermline Abbey

A relaxed day of royal history, coastal charm, and the home of golf — with Neil as your guide.

This tour blends ancient abbeys, Renaissance palaces, fishing villages, and the world‑famous town of St Andrews. I’ll collect you from your hotel, cruise ship, airport, wherever you’re starting, and we’ll head out in comfort in my luxury Mercedes V‑Class or BMW 7 Series.

It’s a gentle, story‑rich day with plenty of time for photos, exploring, and enjoying the scenery.

Tour Highlights

Dunfermline Abbey & Andrew Carnegie’s Birthplace

We begin in Dunfermline, once the capital of Scotland and the burial place of many Scottish kings and queens. You’ll visit Andrew Carnegie’s birthplace and enjoy a walk around Dunfermline Abbey, steeped in royal history and dramatic architecture.

Falkland Palace

Next, we travel to Falkland Palace, a beautiful Renaissance retreat loved by Mary Queen of Scots. Wander the gardens, explore the palace, and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of this royal escape. Outlander fans will recognise parts of the village as “1940s Inverness,” making this stop a lovely blend of real history and TV magic.

St Andrews — The Home of Golf

We then head to the ancient university town of St Andrews. Here you’ll have time to:

  • Walk the historic streets

  • Visit the Abbey and Castle

  • Explore the shops and cafés

  • And of course, take that iconic photo on the Swilcan Bridge and wander the Old Course

It’s a must‑see for golfers and non‑golfers alike.

Fife Coastal Villages

On the return journey, we drive through the idyllic fishing villages of the Fife coast, with beautiful sea views and charming harbours.

A wee note about flexibility

Nothing on this tour is fixed. If you want to spend longer somewhere, skip a stop, add a detour, or grab a coffee with a view, just say. It’s your day, and I’m here to make it exactly what you want.
