Overall the trip was fantastic! the itinerary was excellent. There were a few bumps along the way that were overcome. I felt that Steve should have been there. We were not aware until we committed to the trip. The missed flight from Frankfort to Paris was poor planning up front. Too little time to go from one concourse to another and go through passport control and security again. Especially with the older pilgrims we had on the trip. The difficulty of getting around the airport at Frankfort is well know. Evening meals were mediocre, beef three nights in a row. Last meal of the trip should have been upgraded. There should have been introductions on the first day, and reflections of the trip on the last day. The itinerary was great but would have like to go down to the beach at Omaha beach. The high speed rail trip was awesome. Fr Kladar and Pawell did a great job in leading us. I would do a trip with them again.

If I were only rating the travelers and sites on this trip-I’d give this higher marks. It doesn’t seem that the travel company really paid attention to the details- travelers were not given land yards to identify other group members- this was kind of an issue not just for travelers, but for our tour guide. Our tour guide, Pável, was outstanding! I’d book a trip with him again in a second! 😊 But, back to the tour company…As for our accommodations the hotels were clean and comfortable but the food was mediocre at best. We had beef with potatoes/rice 3 out 6 meals. The sites that we saw and being present to witness Father say Mass in such historical places was beyond moving and part of an important faith journey. However, this trip could have used an extra day or two as there was not any or very minimal free time. The other sad thing was that our group had to leave our hotel at 2:30AM in order to catch their flight home-that is not ideal for anyone let alone several elderly people. I felt really bad for them and relieved that I did extend my trip with a direct flight home. Bottom line- I would gladlydo another pilgrimage with Father and our tour guide, I just don’t know that I’d book it with this tour company.

The pilgrimage was wonderful thanks to the knowledge, expertise, adaptability of Pawel, and the spiritual leadership of Fr. Kladar. I was glad I went in a day early and took a direct United (7 hr 15 min) flight to CDG in order to adjust to the time change and be refreshed to start the pilgrimage. It was actually less expensive for me to do that. My recommendation on future pilgrimages to always arrange a direct flight at least going over, especially if it's a major destination city. I was glad that Pawel was able to put the 5 of us on the bus to our first destination, instead of waiting around CDG or taking a trip into Paris, while he diligently worked on plans for the majority of the group that missed the flight. My other suggestion would be to provide name lanyards for everyone, so we are identified as a group traveling together. Nobody used the cheap peel and stick labels. There were 100 people on our flight traveling together from Iowa on a pilgrimage and they all were easily identifiable because they had lanyards with their name. I saw so many groups everywhere that could easily be identified because they had lanyards. The excuse not to provide them was weak, there are tour groups everywhere we went that had them.................strength in numbers. It also makes it easier and more personable when you have people traveling together in a large group from different parishes. You don't have to keep asking "what is their name?". We did have enough challenges on our trip that Pawel had to deal with. I felt he was doing the work of 2 people. So my recommendation would be if the organizer or coordinator of the trip is unable to join in on the trip, a substitute should be provided. If someone with the knowledge and experience was traveling with the group, I highly think the group would not have missed the flight. It just was not a good start for those people who had 36 hours of travel time without sleep. Then we missed a whole first day of events. When we did start the pilgrimage these people were beyond exhausted. The other recommendation is to find another hotel in Paris to stay at that is not 2 blocks from the red light district. Every time we went somewhere we had to go through the red light district, not a good vibe when you're on a pilgrimage. I did love the relaxing train ride to Lourdes, it was a nice change from being on the bus. We were truly blessed that Pawel was assigned to our pilgrimage and how he managed and juggled all he had to deal with throughout our pilgrimage, and made things happen to make it a memorable trip. Also, our shepherd Fr. Kladar with all the challenges stayed cool, calm, and collected and kept us centered on our true purpose of the pilgrimage. I was so impressed with all the faith-filled opportunities we shared together with him whether in prayer, adoration, and especially at mass. Please take my recommendations as suggestions for future planning. This was my first pilgrimage and it will definitely have a lasting impression on me. My favorite place to visit was Lourdes. Thanks to all those involved in putting this pilgrimage together.

Awesome trip with wonderful people! Steve did a great job keeping everything organized for the week and our itinerary took us through amazing sights in Poland but still left time to be on our own.

Wow! What a wonderful Poland Pilgrimage Steve and Father Jerome provided for us. I was blown away by the beauty of this amazingly resilient country. The 11th Century Bnedictine Abbey, Krakow, St Mary's , Wawel Cathedral, Jewish Quarter, Czestochowa ( The Black Madonna), Wadowice (Pope John Paul II's home town and church), the beautiful mountains of Zakopane, the dehumanizing Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz, Divine Mercy Shrine and the Salt Mines were all so educational and spiritually moving. Our Polish tour guide, Marta was fabulous as well. She went above and beyond her professional responsibilities in making sure everyone had what they needed. Thank you for the Pilgrimage of a lifetime! Perogies anyone??
