Participate in daily surf adventures, sunrise or sunset yoga and meditation sessions, cacao ceremonies and specialized experiences of the local flavors that this authentic fishing village has to offer. 

Ride horses through local farms, hiking through natural ecosystems and spending time with the local children learning how they work together to keep their environment clean and empower each other to live life to the fullest! 

 Equipped with a sparkling pool, WiFi, and A/C, you’ll be able to enjoy comfortable accommodations without losing the rustic touch that makes Gigante unique. Yoga will be held between a tropical open space underneath our newly built grand palapa and a cliffside ocean view shala.

Breaks in the day are encouraged, so feel free to take a moment to relax in one of our day beds or hammock, and appreciate the cloudy blue skies, palm trees, and gift yourself the feeling of serenity. 

We have a full-service restaurant + bar to prepare meals and beverages during this retreat.  A colorful fishing village off the beaten path, El Gigante is located just over an hour north of San Juan Del Sur on Nicaragua's beautiful Pacific Coast. The town is aptly named “big foot” when translated from Spanish to describe the gentle green foothills that meet the ocean with such ease. A town filled with untouched beaches, roaming farm animals, and dirt pathways; you’ll quickly remember the importance of slowing down and to embrace living simply.  

The lifestyle and culture here very much embodies the phrase “Take it Easy”. Arriving here feels like taking one long exhale and a chance to just be. 

 Layna is a very peaceful yet powerful yogi and surfer. Obtaining her 200 hour vinyasa RYT in 2016 she has delved deeper into her practice through cross-cultural experience and immersive journeys. She has been a surfer for 10+ years and an ocean advocate through all aspects of life. She strives to have each student tap into that divine intrinsic value we all hold by connecting deep within nature, immersion into new cultures and diving deep into yourself. Her favorite yoga class to lead is under a sunset or sunrise sky nourishing and giving love to those tender surfing muscles after a long day playing on the water.  Layna’s home base is Jupiter Fl but is frequently found traveling through Central American jungle towns practicing yoga and mediation, charging waves and riding horses into the Sunset. She actually lived in Gigante for some time so is beyond stoked to share some of her second home with all who wish to join. Layna leads immersive surf yoga adventure retreats throughout Central America and has dubbed the name Sea Reina by the divine connection to the sea she desires to share. Mary is an enthusiastic logger & has a zeal for surfing that has been contagious for 10+ years. She owns her own surf instructing business that has taught over 700 women how to surf in less than a year. She is instructing in the water 5 days a week and working on her creative endeavors when she's not teaching. Mary is native to South Carolina swell but has posted up in West Palm Beach, Florida for the last 8 years. Before she quit her job to spread the stoke, she managed a retreat venue and hosted various retreats & logistics for guests that traveled from around the world. When the conditions are not hospitable to teach, she is usually creating collages or embroidery pieces for local markets. Iggy is an absolute shredista, native to Vina del Mar, Chile. She is addicted to the stoke and eternal creativity that both surfing and graphic design bring her. Iggy grew up jumping between Chile, Ireland and the United States and has been lucky to be surfing since she was a young one. The ocean has always been her home and surfing has always been a part of her life. Before coming to Florida 6 years ago she instructed for Billabong Chile for 4 years in the town of Concon, Chile. She is super stoked to bring anyone along for a first time froth or a short board sesh. Surfing, teaching surf lessons, doing ding repair and skating are her daily practices. You can see her ripping on her fish during Florida refraction swells or kicking it on a log during our microwave days.  When she's not in Florida you can find her in Costa Rica or Nicaragua with a surfboard in one hand and a coconut in the other.
