After breakfast, you will take part in the following activity:
Navigating a New Path with Chelsea Tharp (9:00 a.m. / 11:00 a.m.)
New pathways and new habits are created by having new experiences providing new perspectives yielding enhanced flow states. Water is the perfect metaphor for imagineering flow states while kayaking on beautiful Lake Petén Itzá. Chelsea is an experienced kayaker, certified wilderness first responder and outdoor leadership facilitator and holds a BS in Parks and Recreation Management. We are delighted to have her adding her wisdom and expertise to the retreat.
If you are feeling adventurous and want to visit a truly unique and magnificent archeological site, then you can take an optional day-trip to El Mirador instead of the kayaking experience. After breakfast, we will transfer to a private helipad (approx. 1 hour) to take a 30-minute helicopter flight to the lost and ancient Maya city of El Mirador. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided visit of the site's central acropolis and the largest pyramid (measured in volume) of the Maya world: La Danta. Recent LIDAR studies of El Mirador have demonstrated once again that the Maya Biosphere is full of incredible secrets that have been hidden for thousands of years, under the vast and unspoiled lush jungle. You will have a boxed lunch at the site. Mid afternoon, we will take the helicopter ride and then transfer back to the hotel (arriving at 5:00 p.m. approx.).
After dinner, you will experience the following activity:
Guided meditation (8:00 p.m. / 9:00 p.m.)
Meditation on increasing adaptability, flexibility and fluidity designed to increase flow states.
Optional activity: Guided visit to El Mirador. Price per person is $585 and there are only 6 spots available. Please make sure you include this add-on when booking.
