About this trip

In partnership with SECTUR, The University of Guanajuato, and the Technical University of León, we invite academics, industry professionals and tourism students to a two-week ‘summer school’ in Guanajuato, Mexico.


During our stay in Mexico’s heartland, we will visit the state’s most significant tourism assets, learn about recent tourism innovations and review the latest tourism curriculum. Participants will have the opportunity to collect data and conduct fieldwork a scholarly article to be published with partnering institutions:


• Accommodation and ground transportation will be provided 

• Cost per participant: $550 + airfare – due by May 15th

Before You Go

* Identify Guanajuato State on a map of Mexico 
* Read provided dossier about the project and expectations for participants
* Participate in one meeting via gotomeeting prior to departure (Date TBD) to cover logistics, room assignments and other last minute details
* Ensure you don't need a VISA to enter Mexico or re-enter the United States from Mexico
* Call health care insurance provider and explore international coverage options
* Sign liability waiver form

Daniel is currently pursuing a Masters of Tourism Administration at GW Business School after a decade of work experience in political and public affairs. Most recently Daniel worked for a DC-based public affairs firm advising clients ranging from non-profits to multinational brands on ways to connect with constituents using technology and partnerships.
