The most exciting and challenging day of your trek begins around midnight. After a light snack, you’ll set out under a sky filled with stars, following the steep path up to Stella Point (5,730m).
The 6-8 hour climb to the summit is mentally and physically demanding, but with each step, you draw closer to your goal. Upon reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, the sense of accomplishment is overwhelming. The sunrise from the summit is an awe-inspiring sight, with sweeping views over the plains and glaciers below.
After taking in the moment and snapping your summit photos, you’ll begin the long descent back to Barafu/Kosovo Camp for a brief rest. From there, you’ll continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100m), where you’ll spend the night, exhausted but exhilarated after your incredible achievement.
Overnight at Mweka Camp (3,100m).
