Trip Details

Embark on an unforgettable scuba diving adventure at Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort in Dominica! Located in the vibrant capital city of Roseau, along the stunning shores of the Caribbean Sea, Fort Young offers a premier diving experience that combines luxury accommodations with world-class underwater exploration.

Dominica, known as the "Nature Island of the Caribbean," is a volcanic island with rugged terrain. It's mostly mountainous, covered by lush rainforests, and home to nine of the Caribbean's sixteen active volcanoes. The island spans approximately 290 square miles, and is about 2.6 times the size of Bonaire.

Marine Life: Dive into Dominica's pristine waters, teeming with vibrant marine life. Encounter schools of colorful tropical fish, graceful sea turtles, majestic rays, and playful dolphins. Explore the island's iconic underwater features, including rugged pinnacles, dramatic drop-offs, and abyssal depths. With the guidance of experienced dive instructors, you'll discover hidden treasures like coral gardens, sponge-covered reefs, and intriguing shipwrecks. In April, the water temperatures around Dominica are typically around 79°F to 82°F making it ideal for snorkeling and diving.

Land-Based Sights: When you're not exploring the underwater wonders, Dominica's lush landscapes offer equally captivating adventures. Hike through the island's tropical rainforests to discover cascading waterfalls, hot springs, and emerald pools. Visit the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and marvel at the boiling lake, sulfur springs, and rich biodiversity. Take a cultural tour of Roseau, where you can explore historic sites, vibrant markets, and indulge in local cuisine.

It is a 15-minute walk from where the vehicle stops, to the viewing area of the falls. Those who are able to, weather permitting and under the supervision of the guide can scramble over the boulders, to the base of one of the falls where there is a great pool for a rejuvenating swim.

Recommended Wear: Light clothing, sneakers, sunscreen & Swimwear in case you want to take a dip

Pack: Water & towel

Titou Gorge

The Ti Tou Gorge waterfall is located in the village of Laudat about 25-30 mins drive from town, this tour is one of the most unique and a “must see’’ marvel of the Island. The name Titou Gorge is Creole and means “Little throat hole”, literally you will swim up the “throat” of the mountain to the waterfall plummeting heavily into the Gorge. There’s no fun if you don't get near or take that tour up the stream to experience the gushing, breathtaking enchanted waterfall. This gorge was formed many years ago and is fed by the water from the Fresh Water Lake.
