About this trip

Pack your favorite walking shoes and get yourself to the breath-taking South of Ireland. Just take off in your rental car and explore the ancient sites, Castles and stunning coastal towns of Cork.

From fascinating cities to wild landscapes, Ireland's south is waiting for you.

You will stay in Dublin city for the first two nights.

You will stay in Clonmel for two nights and stay in Cork for two nights. You are not on a schedule so you can take in as much as you like but we have some suggestions for you and we will look after your bookings of these venue's too.

Overview of this trip

For your first two nights in Ireland we book you into a hotel which is 5 min's from the airport called "The Forty Four on Main St"  Which is on the outskirts of Dublin City. From there you can get a local bus into the city center and for your first day you can go exploring. There are some great places to visit. Guinness Store house, Jameson Distillery, Trinity College where you will see the famous Book of Kells, the Whiskey museum, Kilmainham Jail and so much more. While in Dublin city you should have a look for the Molly Malone Statue because if you want to take a day trip to the underground Megalithic tomb the following day (highly recommended) you could take a day trip bus from there.

On your third day you go to the airport to rent your car, and from there you will make your way South. Again you are not on a schedule so you don't have to be anywhere at any particular time but we suggest that you visit the Rock of Cashel. It is amazing but on your way there you could call into see Killkenny Castle too. You will be staying in Clonmel for two nights in Mulcahy's hotel

We suggest you take a drive down to Hook Head peninsula and visit Hook head lighthouse and enjoy the coastal drive. There are some quaint little coastal towns all around that part of the country so you can take your time before returning to your hotel.

You will then make your way to Cork where you can visit the famous Jameson Distillery in Midlton Co Cork and then go to Cobh which is the place where the Titanic stopped for the last time. There is a great heritage museum there to check out and if you would like to do something cool you could go out to Spike Island by boat from the harbor there. You will stay in the Commons Inn

Your last day down South we suggest you visit Blarney Castle and then take a trip around the Ring of Beara which is breath-taking in every way before you get back to your hotel in Cork, Then you make your way back to Dublin to the airport to leave back the car and take your evening flight, saying goodbye to Ireland. But we hope you will come back again soon!
