About this trip

Swim Packing Adventure | Studland & Poole Harbour

4 - 6 July 2024

'Pack your raft and complete a three day swim'

Pack your raft (provided) and join us on a three day adventure, swimming the world's second largest natural harbour. Rich with nature filled islands and stories of pirates and celebrities who form the history of Poole Harbour.

Day one begins with an approximate 2 mile walk around the Studland penisula, before setting off on a gentle 3.25km group swim to our waterside campsite.

The nights will be spent at Cleavel Point, right on the waterside. Your own spacious, pre-pitched bell tent will be complete with single bed/s, mats, lamps and firepit.

Our private, on site, outdoor chef will rustle up an excellent camp side dinner for all.

On day 2, following a breakfast cooked on site, we'll swim approximately 2km to Brownsea Island, relax on the infamous island's beaches, home to Red Squirrels, peacocks and the founding home of the Scouts and playground of Enid Blyton's Famous Five.

Day 3 will take us on a direct route back to the start, following a waterside brekkie

Homemade cake then awaits you before carriages at 1300.

It was a great trip with great organisation, friendly fellow swimmers and delicious food and post swim cakes, and a very comfortable glamping site. Mel and Rich were friendly throughout, and were well informed about local areas and swims. When a decision needed to be made in relation to safety, as a result of inclement weather during our trip, and our plans were forced to change - they kept us fully informed. This was my 3rd trip with Mel and Rich and I entirely recommend their trips and rate them both highly.

Another amazing experience with The Wild Swimming Co team. Keeping us safe with lifeguard support, encouragement and homemade cake. Well organised with good local knowledge. We couldn't have asked for calmer seas and a more stunning sunrise. Thank you for a fantastic event, highly recommended. I'll be back.

What a fantastic swim and adventure. We were so lucky with the weather but even so the organisation was great and we were well looked after by everyone. I am seriously looking at booking a weekend trip with them as a result!

Epic swim with Rich and Donald. Standing on the rocks at Old Harry having swum up from the beach with the sun setting and the moon rising was breathtaking. The swim group were encouraged to work together to have their best swim getting to the rocks and amazing local knowledge of the rocks meant we could all play in the tunnels and arches. And. There. Was. Cake! Power boat ride back to the beach was the icing on the cake! Thank you.

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The safety aspects Rich & Donald went through to keep us all safe & sound was so reassuring. We started off with a run done of how the evening was going to run, to covering off all the disclaimers & then checking we could all swim to the required level for the adventure. Then, off we set. No one was left behind or unsupported. The arrival to Old Harry's Rock was fun scooting over the rocks, then some tasty freshly baked cake. We then hopped back in the water to swim through the caves & touched Old Harry himself. History in the making, right there. Whilst swimming through the caves, we got to see the sun sink gradually on the horizon. We were then treated to the most exhilarating rip boat ride back to shore. Whilst riding the rip, I took one glance back at Old Harry to see the most incredible moon over the top of the cliffs. MAGICAL! Oh & a couple of doughnuts in the sea before reaching dry land. The sunset was out of this world, the sun set gradually & the colour of the sky turned from yellow through to orange, from orange through to purple. The Boys couldn't have made it any better. Thank you, a truly magical unforgettable experience 🤗
