Amazing!

Loved loved loved it! Dominica is uniquely beautiful; the trip was well organised, everything was effortless and straightforward; the hotel is a gem, lovely staff; Omar the driver aka party organiser, the local fixer; Aimee was a good guide, amazing photographer and outstanding dancer; Pernell, the whale whisperer, found them again and again - the stars of the show, the spermwhales themselves. Amongst others, we had a long and unforgettable interaction with three young calves.

A wonderful experience in Dominica. Kellon was a fantastic group leader – he was kind, knowledgeable, and a true steward and advocate for the whales. It was obvious he took seriously his work and our group’s care. Purnell and John worked tirelessly to spot whales and dolphins, which were also incredible to swim with, and ensure our group had the best experience possible. Lise and the whole crew at Champs were also a delight - a lovely little hotel with delicious home cooked food, excellent service, and a beautiful view..

I had a fantastic experience with Just the Wild in Dominica. Our group had several close encounters with sperm whales, bottlenose dolphins and false killer whales. Our boat captain and local whale whisperer, Pernell, was a sight to behold as he listened for and found the different animals, and dropped us in the water at the exact right spot to interact with them. Our guide, Kellon, was super knowledgeable, took wonderful care of everyone in the group, and had a great sense of humor. The staff at our hotel were lovely people who accommodated my many dietary restrictions. I enthusiastically recommend Just the Wild!

Amazing trip. Traveled with a friend, we had a wonderful group of 6 and our guide, Kellon, as well as boat captain, Purnell, were absolutely phenomenal. We were blown away by the depth of their knowledge and dedication to the well-being of the whales as well as their commitment to ensuring we had an interactive, up close experience while also ensuring that the comfort and boundaries of the whales were respected at all times. Due to both the care and expertise that they provided, we were able to have a long encounter with one particularly social whale where it felt like the entire world stopped. Purnell is truly gifted at identifying, finding and fully knowing these magnificent animals, to such an extent that every other boat captain is literally left in his wake, attempting to follow where he leads. He seems to always know where the animals are. Kellon has a depth of knowledge about cetaceans that can only come from truly loving what he does, and that is evident in every detail of this trip. Cannot wait to return!
