About this trip

Where: Anzère, a small winter sport village with 40 miles of downhill skiing and 13 lifts. We are staying at the chalet Wildhorn (www.chaletwildhorn.com) that hosts 21 people and has stunning views. If there’s enough snow, you can ski right to the village and walk 3 minutes to the chalet. The chalet is 3 minutes from the telecabine and there is a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes. There is also a nice SPA&Wellness within 3 walking minutes from the Chalet. Anzère is located in the Canton of Vallais, about a two hours drive from Geneva airport. It’s arguably some of the best skiing in the world, right next to the famous, but much busier, Verbier and Crans-Montana resorts. We can easily do day trips to these resorts, if desired. There is also the possibility to do Heliski and extended tours with licensed mountain guides. I am personally a big fan of ski tours. It’s a crazy workout walking through deep snow up a mountain, but as a reward, you get a long downhill descent on a virgin mountain. Besides Skiing: On the way from Geneva to Anzère, we will visit Chateau Chillon, a beautiful 1000 year old castle right at the lake of Geneva. 20 minutes from Anzère is Sion, the capital of the Vallais which has a historic old town and castle built on a rock. New Years Extension: I will be spending New Year’s in Amsterdam, so if anyone is interested in combining a crazy New Years party in Amsterdam with a week of skiing in Switzerland, write me a message. We could organize Airbnbs and our friends in Amsterdam all mostly crazy Artists/DJs that could hook us up with great parties . If people want to extend the trip beyond Switzerland, I’m more than happy to discuss the options. Paris is a 3 hours train ride from Geneva, Italy is around the corner and Easy Jet flies you for nothing from Geneva to any other destination in Europe. Price: $880-940 (depending on how many people join). You will have to pay a $300 deposit now to secure your spot and pay the remaining amount in November. Experience required: You will not need any prior skiing or snowboarding experience (except if you want to join the tours and heliski). Anzere of course has a ski school and by the end of the week, you will be racing down these mountains!! People: I will also invite a couple of friends from Switzerland, so our house will be mainly Haasies but with a few locals forced to learn cards against humanity and forcing their weird cheese dishes & local moonshine on you.
