This trip is just for the ladies! Join us as we tour Costalegre, which translates to the “happy coast”, you’re gonna love it. We’ll stay at some of the best beaches in family and women owned boutique hotels on the pacific coast before we head across the mountains to visit a spa tucked away in a little town. Our last night out on the ride will be a little cove town on the pacific before we ride back to puerto vallarta. We’ve worked out all the details and a veteran women’s motorcycle tour leader will be guiding you on this journey.
The Serpent is a powerful symbol of rebirth and renewal in Mexican Culture, and this trip is designed to do just that. Although it's not an offical title like the tail of the dragon in the US, the roads we have picked out are curvy and twisty and when we first rode them, it gave us new life and made us realize there is so much more fantastic riding in Mexico. So for this introduction, we'll kick off this trip across the road from the Pyramid to the Serpent at Teotihucan, then ride up into Hidalgo, Queretaro, and San Luis Potosi States. This is a spectacular mountain ride featuring one of my personal favorite places, Grutas Tolantango, a cave hot springs flowing into a sky blue river. If you love the tail of the dragon, the Rockies, or the Sierras in the US, you’ll love this ride.

Each trip we have a kick off dinner so we can get to know everyone. On the last or night before the trip is over we have another special evening on us.
Once you get to our rally point at our hotel, we take care of accomodations and travel, we can help you sort out travel, but it's up to you to pay your own way.
During the day we'll stop for lunch, drinks, etc. Many times we may go out to dinner together, or you can venture out on your own. Nothing is mandatory.
Just like if you rent a car, you'll buy your own gas. The price can vary depending on the trip, but figure $10 to $15/day USD.
Sometimes parks or hot springs charge an entry fee.
We can't account for how you may wish to spend money on your trip, but for lunch, dinner, gas, tolls, etc., we usually recommend you bring an addtional $75 USD per day for a very comfortable trip.
We take pride in working with family and women owned business in Mexico. Our first night we'll be staying in at a hotel across the road from the Teotihucan Pyramid complex owned by a wonderful family. There hospitality was off the charts the last time we stayed with them. They kicked off our trip with a traditional Axtec ball court game with their friends and kids and it was a blast. This is also where we'll meet our bikes for the week and get to know the team.
Day two starts with a safety talk and any adjustments we need to make on the bikes before we take a shake out ride north to our first destination Grutas Tolantango. This is one of my favorite places on earth. We'll take a day here to soak up the hot water and chill before we take on the Tail of the Serpent. We'll make a night under the stars here too. I like having a campfire down by the river at night. We'll stay here for a second night and will offer side a trip through the mountains for those ADV riders in the group. Otherwise, hang out, take a Zipline, lay around in one of the hot spring pools, the river, or the cave. This place is magic.
We like to start the days with a quick safety talk and discuss riding styles and offer tips that will make it more enjoyable. The roads for the next 3 days will be curvy and offer us a multitude of vistas to take pics and just hang out in awe of mother nature. I'm not a poet, so you're just gonna have to believe me when I say this is just incredible riding. Our destination for the night is Tamazunchale in San Luis Postosi State. This mountain crossroads is the perfect spot to hold up after a great day of twisty riding.
If you love twisty mountain riding, you're in for a treat, but don't fear, this isn't the Baja 1000; you'll be on paved roads and able to enjoy the ride. Between Tamazunchale and Jalpan is a very unexpected sculptural garden created by a British guy named Edward James called Las Pozas. We'll take a break in the riding to hang out there for a while before we make our way over to Jalpan where we can swim in our hotel pool, while we have some drinks and dinner.
More twisty mountain roads are a head of us before we ride into the river valley filled with thermal vents. Our destination is a hotel in the country outside of the town Tecozaulta. There's another hot springs near this spot but it features a steam vent. The locals with laugh and encorage you to stand in the spray - I loved it. Dinner will be under the stars and the hotel is pretty great too.
After breakfast we'll load up the chase van for the last ride into Mexico City. For those who may not wish to ride into the biggest city in North America, we have a spot set up to pick up bikes after lunch, and you can ride in the chase van back to our hotel, there's no shame in our game. This is about having the best time you can. We'll hook up at our hotel in the Condessa neighborhood for a last night together. If you want to stay on, we have tons of recommendations for restraunts, museums, parks, and where to see lucha libre matches!
