Welcome to your Tanzania safari! Over 4 days you'll enjoy a well-deserved rest day following your Kilimanjaro expedition, and then spend 2 exploring Tarangire National Park and one day in Ngorongoro Crater National Park.

You'll love the 4-Star "glamping" accommodations on the safari, and you never know what animals you'll see on a particular day. Our 2026 Safari group saw all of the "Top 5"!

You'll explore in style: each 5 person group is assigned a private driver, a certified and English speaking guide. You cruise around in a comfortable Land Cruiser 4x4 with pop-up roof, fridge, Wi-Fi, and power outlets.

The price per person on Safari depends on how many join. Prices for small groups are higher; for example 5 or more bring the average cost per person down to ~$1,600 for 2 sharing or $1,900 for single supplement. As a result, we won't know your final price until the group size is confirmed and our guide company confirms the hotel/lodging reservations. It's important to confirm the safari early as loading starts to fill up in the fall for next summer's safaris.

DASH Adventures will refund any deposits on request if the group size does not reach 4 or more on the Safari, as these small groups of 1-3 people are much more expensive than the larger 4+ groups. So you can sign up with price protection!

Today you'll enjoy sleeping in, buffet breakfast, and then say goodbye to your Kilimanjaro team and head out from your hotel in Moshi for a ~2 hour ride to Arusha.

Use this day to slow down and feel the vibe of Tanzanian Pole Pole. You can relax by the pool with a cocktail, have Spa, go shopping or do a day-trip to one of the smaller local gems. There's plenty of options to choose from and suit your individual travel style. Ask your manager to help you plan this day and make desired arrangements.

Gran Melia Arusha provides food catering in three restaurants: Saba Saba, Rooftop, The Grill. 

Saba Saba serves local cuisine with international influences. Menu at The Grill is based on authentic char grill recipes for meat, fish and seafood. Rooftop welcomes guests with a spectacular panorama of Mount Meru and the Arusha city. 

Today your safari will take place in Tarangire National Park. This is one of the most interesting places in Tanzania! The river of the same name flows through the park, where giraffes, zebras, antelopes and buffaloes come to drink. These animals attract predators, which is why a lot of lions live in Tarangire. You will definitely see them during your trip. 

In the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only source of drinking water for many kilometers around. Because of this, large herds of elephants come to Tarangire, making Tarangire the home to the largest population of elephants in Northern Tanzania for most of the year (especially June - October and December - March). Elephants are not at all intimidated by visitors to the park, and they often come quite close to cars. This is completely safe - since elephants have no enemies in their natural nature they are naturally curious and unafraid.

Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp is an ideal base for exploring one of Tanzania’s most celebrated natural landmarks, Tarangire National Park. Located just 3.5 kilometers (2 mi) from the park’s main entrance, the lodge occupies 25,000 hectares overlooking a branch of the Tarangire River. The riverbed is frequently crossed by elephants, giraffes, zebras, and impalas, and guests can observe these animals in their natural habitat while relaxing on the terraces of their tents.

The camp offers 20 safari tents, ranging from family and double options to luxury suites. Each is built on a raised wooden platform to maximize the views from the windows. All rooms feature large comfortable beds with canopy mosquito nets, private verandas, and en-suite bathrooms.

The main lodge, set beneath a traditional thatched roof that stays cool even in the heat of the day, is also elevated on a wooden platform. The spacious lounge has a relaxed atmosphere, while the restaurant serves local dishes inspired by regional culinary traditions. Its elevated setting also provides beautiful views of the riverbank below, which are especially enjoyable from the infinity pool adjoining the main building.

Your second day in Tarangire National Park. Your guide will show you the sections of Tarangire that you did not have time to visit yesterday. There are a lot of interesting locations with beautiful views, and even more African animals. In Tarangire, you can see rare species, some of which are not usually found even in the Serengeti, such as long-necked gerenuks and oryx.

Also in Tarangire, there are hyraxes - small funny animals that are the closest relatives of elephants, despite their very different size. It is very interesting to watch them, and they willingly let visitors come fairly close for photos only (remember: no touching wildlife!).

In addition, bird lovers will be interested in Tarangire because there are more than 550 species of birds here! We have good resolution binoculars in our car so you can see them even better.

Today you are heading to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater. We recommend starting the drive early, usually around 6:30–7:00 AM, depending on your lodge location. This allows you to enjoy the crater in the quieter morning hours before larger crowds arrive. The descent from the rim to the crater floor takes about 30 minutes, passing along the forested crater wall, while the spectacular panorama of the caldera gradually opens up below.
The crater formed about 2 million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed after a powerful eruption, creating one of the world’s largest intact volcanic calderas. Inside this ancient volcanic crater lives an extraordinary concentration of wildlife – one of the highest densities of animals anywhere in Africa. 
Elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, and zebras are commonly seen here, and the crater is also one of the few places where you might spot the endangered black rhino. Although animals can leave the caldera, most remain thanks to the abundant grasslands and reliable water sources. One animal you will not see here is the giraffe – their body structure makes it difficult for them to descend the steep crater walls. The crater forms part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its exceptional wildlife density and unique volcanic landscape.

We return to Arusha today; it could be the same hotel you stayed at before or a different location.

A driver will pick you up from your accommodations and take you to the airport. If you're flying out with an international flight, please be ready to leave the hotel 4 hours before the scheduled take-off. If you're taking a domestic flight, you'll need to leave 3 hours before the flight.
