Tanzania, Yoga & Safari Retreat  


October 5th-16th, 2019  11 Nights/ 12 Days in two locations! 


The Retreat takes place in a small beautiful beachfront hotel in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The retreat space has an aura of tranquility and a feeling of spaciousness with its lush tropical gardens lined with Coconut palms, Frangipani and Banana trees. Short steps lead to the beach and to the turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean. 

The first part of the retreat is located in Zanzibar on the northern tip of the island, which boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. The 2 yoga spaces on the retreat face west overlooking the ocean for perfect sightings of the setting sun.  You will practice Vinyasa Yoga in the morning and Restorative or Yin Yoga in the evening with Desiree Ouellette, E-RYT 500,  owner of Yogi Adventure Retreats.


Our next destination then takes us on a small flight from beach to bush, to Kilimanjaro, where we will make our way for a one night stay in a beautiful Lodge nestled at the foothills of Kilimanjaro, just a few minutes away from Machame Gate entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. It has a restaurant and bar, everyone can enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Then we begin our 3 night 4 day Safari to see the big 5. After the safari we will spend one more night at the same lodge.


Tanzania is the ultimate dream safari destination.  With a vast array of experiences coupled together with the country's dedication to preservation, you can be ensured an amazing holiday that will stay with you forever. You will sleep under the stars in tented lodges among the wildlife.

The safari will be 4 days and 3 nights, and we will be visiting Serengeti, Ngoro Ngoro and Tarangire National Parks, so we will probably get to see the BIG 5!!!

Tanzania Yoga & Safari
Yoga and Safari in Zanzibar and Serengeti, Africa

We start our retreat in the beautiful Zanzibar, Tanzania beach where we will practice yoga, swim, explore and relax on the white sands and swim in the aqua waters.  We will then make our way tp the foothills of the Kilimanjaro to start the second part of our retreat for an unforgettable Safari in the Serengeti!  We will stay one night in a lodge, three  nights Glamping and the last night in a lodge on our four day safari!  This will be an incredible and unforgettable experience!

Desirée has always had a burning desire to travel the world and share her passion of adventure while leading others toward optimal health and wellness. Yoga has become the vehicle to healing her body and finding the confidence to lead others on a journey to better health and adventure. In 2010, her journey to help others and her quest to achieve health and wellness began with a 250 hr teacher training and by 2018 she has trained all over the world with amazing teachers, completing over 1300 hours of Yoga training, along with Thai Massage training, Yamuna Body Rolling and Sound (Holosonic) healing.
