In order to give you the best experience ever, I'll go over some tips to help you enjoy your snorkel experience to the fullest.  I'll tell you about the creatures you will probably see and what behaviors to look for.  How to see the things most people miss.  

Then we will go to the beach and snorkel from shore to the coolest thing you have probably ever seen - a sea turtle "cleaning station" where green sea turtles "assume the position" and hover in the water while little fish clean the parasites and algae off their skin and shells.  

Before we go I'll give you some background on sea turtles.  I used to raise injured hatchlings until they were the right size to be released, acclimate them to the ocean via swims with a harness so they could build their muscles, get comfortable in their new environment and learn how to find food for themselves. 

Because this hike is along the shore with no shade, we will head out early to Kaena point while the sun is low.  We will carry our breakfasts and you can eat yours when we get to the point or along the way. 

The trail out to the protected area on the point used to be where the train travelled around the point to the North Shore.  It's a level trail but somewhat rocky.

Along the way we may see humpback whales as this area is one of their favorites, especially for mothers and their calves.

The reserve provides refuge and a nesting area for the Laysan albatross, and is a potential nesting site for the green sea turtle and Hawaiian monk seal. Often we will see seals basking on the rocks and sometimes their babies will be there, too

In Hawaiian Legend, Ka'ena Point was the jumping off point for people to pass from this world into the afterlife.

On the way back home we may stop for a swim at a spectacular beach that is often frequented by dolphins.

The North Shore of Oahu is renown for its surfing.  Places like the world famous Pipeline surfing beach are there.  We will drive past acres of pineapple fields into Haleiwa.  Haleiwa (Hah lay Eva), which means house of the Ewa, or frigate bird, is a funky little town full of art, food, and shops.

Afterwards, I'll take you to the beach where LOST was filmed.  We will probably see a few sea turtles there, too. Feel free to take a dip if you want but save your energy for Shark's Cove which, being in a marine protected area, has the best abundance and variety of fish on the island.

Then it's off to Ted's Bakery for a fabulous lunch.  After lunch we will head home around the other side of the island making stops at interested places should you feel the desire to do so.

Today is a day to rest, go for a swim or snorkel, chill at the villa or go somewhere like Pearl Harbor or Waikiki. You may have to find your own transportation.

This is a day you will always remember, I think.  We will be taking what I think is the best dolphin tour on Oahu.  The crew is professional, fun and knowledgable.  

There is rarely a day when we don't see dolphins (I had my own 5-star tour company doing dolphin tours until 2017.)  And even though it is the end of March, we will also probably see humpback whales.  And at that time of year we should see their calves.  I can't even begin to describe the tour so you will just have to wait and be surprised.

We will probably stop for a snorkel, too.

After the warmth of the day has cooled and the sun is about to set, we will head off to Hikilolo  for a sunset horseback ride.  It is a lovely way to see the sunset from the mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Make the best of this day.  Enjoy the company of your tour mates, swim in the pool at the villa, walk to Makaha Beach or see the turtles basking on nearby Turtle Beach.  It's up to you.  This is your last full day in Paradise, so take it all in.
