We depart by bus from Rome in the late morning and travel to the verdant Umbrian countryside where we will spend a glorious week at the enchanting Locanda La Quercia Calante, located in Castel Giorgio in the province of Terni.

What to Do at Locanda 

This charming, restored country farmhouse and organic farm is replete with swimming pools, jacuzzi, holistic-spa, and beautifully designed, fully stocked fitness studios with an outdoor deck all immersed in a green natural park. 

An optional afternoon hike to the Monte Rufeno Natural Reserve with its mixed woods, streams, ponds, trails, springs, and flowers is planned.  Or enjoy personal time at Locanda.

A full-day bus trip to the lovely and historically important town of Assisi, with its pink stone, soaring churches and famous St Francis Cathedral and Patron Saint, is planned.  A packed lunch can be included for our trip, but you are also welcome to have lunch out in Assisi if you wish. We will be back for a late, light dinner at 8pm.

Only mobility work is scheduled this day as we will be walking a lot and on some steep terrain. Pack good walking shoes—but don’t worry Assisi has cabs!....
