Day 1:

Pickup from your accommodation at around 8:30 AM and we go northward to Ban Huay lo – a Khmu villagea about 40 km away from Luang Prabang. From there we start our trail. We will walk in the beautiful and green jungle forest, cross small streams. By noon we reach a small Hmong village called Ban Tham loum where we have a lunch break.

After lunch we continue trekking up in the mountain another 2 hours to Hmong village of Ban Mok Chong on the top of the mountain. On the way we will see beautiful scenery of karst mountains. and meet hill tribe people working in their farm.

We will have dinner and stay overnight in a Hmong family home at Ban Mok Chong. You will have a chance to learn about Hmong culture while spending the night with a local family.

DAY2: 

After having a breakfast we walk down the hill to the main road for about 2 hours. Then our vehicle will take you southward about 15 minutes to Ban Soum Sa nouk. From there we start kayak on the Nam Ou River. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside and see a wonderful nature built limestone cliffs called Pha Aen on the way. 2 hours kayaking take us to the first destination the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, Pak Ou.

Upon arrival at Pak Ou, we visit the famous Pak Ou Caves – two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 minutes, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for 30 minutes until we ended our Kayak at Manifa Elephant Camp. There we enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong River.

In the afternoon, we start “MAHOUT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM“.

• LEARN HOW TO CARE AND HANDLE ELEPHANTS WITH THE METHOD OF VERBAL CUES (VOICE COMMAND SYSTEM)
• LEARN HOW TO BETTER HANDLE ELEPHANTS THROUGH BODY LANGUAGE AWARENESS AND COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUES
• LEARN HOW TO CORRECTLY RIDE LIKE A MAHOUT ON THE  NECK OF THE ELEPHANT
• GUIDE YOUR ELEPHANT SAFELY AND COMFORTABLY THROUGH THE JUNGLE ON THE PROPERTY
• BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING BRING ELEPHANTS TO CAMP IN THE MORNING (WAKE UP CALL AND WALK RIDE TO WORK
• PRACTICE THE SKILLS LEARNED IN TRAINING PROGRAM

Mahout program continue until the late afternoon. In the end, we take elephants to their resident bamboo forests. From evening to next morning, we have a free time in the Mekong riverside. We enjoy deluxe dinner and stay overnight in a private bungalow in the Mekong riverside.

DAY 3:  

We resume Mahout Program in the early morning at 6:30 to bring elephants from forests with Manifa mahout team,  then we take elephants to the Mekong river for bathing and interact with them for a while.

After breakfast, we join Manifa Mahout team and experience Mahout work from around 10 – 12 AM. “MAHOUT EXPERIENCES TRAINING PROGRAM” ends with this 2 hours experience working as Mahout.

In the afternoon, this adventure destination package takes you to kuang si waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center. We leave for Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. We make a short visit at Ban Na Uan Hmong village on the way. We return to the city between 5:30-6:00 PM which is the ideal time to visit Phousi Mountain to see sunset..
