      About this trip

One night in Bangkok... From island hopping on a long-tail boat to jungle trekking in one of the oldest forests in the world, you won’t be disappointed in the Land of Smiles. Thailand's breathtaking landscape, mouth-watering food, relaxing massages, and laid-back vibe make it the perfect travel destination. Did we mention that massages are only $8 each?! No matter your style, Thailand has something for everyone.

      • Cook for a cause: Visit a real Thai market and "cook with Poo"! A portion of the proceeds from this cooking program goes to support the Klong Toei slums in Bangkok.

      • Picture perfect beaches: Visit the laid-back town of Railay, accessible only by boat and pedestrians. The beaches here are straight from a postcard!

      • Sleep in a treehouse!: Stay the night in a teak forest in treehouse bungalows. This is a one-of-a-kind experience that not many tourists get to see.

      Bangkok Arrival

Welcome to Thailand! Bangkok is an intoxicating and sometimes jarring mix of modern and ancient with its breathtaking skyline, traditional architecture, and gleaming temples bustling with tourists and locals. Everywhere you go, the aroma of street food that truly captures the essence of Bangkok’s rich culture will engulf you.

There is a welcome meeting with your Thai tour leader this evening but depending on your arrival time, you’ll have time to explore your new surroundings before the meeting. Or you maybe you want to stretch your legs and relax at the hotel's rooftop pool to lounge in if you'd like to unwind after the long journey.

*Airport pick-up is not included. You can easily take a taxi at the airport or pre-arrange an airport pick-up with companies such as Welcome Pickups or one that you may find on travel sites such as TripAdvisor.

Enlightening & memorable trip! I took away so much knowledge on the culture of Vietnam & Cambodia. The people, food, history, economy and historical sites. Temples in Cambodia were fabulous and worth every minute we spent there, regardless of the Spring heat. Our guides were fabulous and very knowledgeable. Loan in Vietnam was so accommodating and helpful on additional things to do on free time. And Dee taught me so much about the Cambodian family, food in restaurants where young Cambodians are learning to develop their talents and skills, ancient Buddhist temples, and traditional Cambodian dance. I've taken away so many memories. I am so grateful for this trip; it's been on my bucket list since COVID. Accommodations were beyond my expectations! I would highly recommend.

This trip far exceeded my expectations. I expected to be spending the daytime hours. Just waiting for the lights at night. This trip was worth it just for the daytime excursions. The lights were amazing. The company was great and our leader was amazing. Thank you globe drifters. I will be looking for my third trip with you

Noteworthy countries to visit, however, the 4 flights (3 domestic & 1 international) are a bit too much for the duration of this trip e.g., given the distance between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh -- travel by minibus would have been a better option (also, providing a chance to visit a few villages along the way). The local guides knowledge-base were not consistent throughout this trip and definitely could be improved.

A magical trip of a lifetime with a great tour guide, Marvil, and group of people. The activities were so much fun; the Aurora cabin was special & food was really good—even the reindeer! And the best part….we saw the Northern Lights 2 nights! 🥰
