About this trip

Join us in the Sacred Valley of Peru to experience The Ancient Way, a journey focused on the power of ritual, healing through ceremony, and using plants as medicine. Together, we’ll go on a journey that deepens our connection with the Earth and with each other. Most of all, we invite you to simply be with the Apus, with the plants, and with each other. The medicine lives in every breath.

During this journey we will:

  • sit with indigenous teachers, learning the law of Ayni (sacred reciprocity) and how to apply the wisdom rooted in Andean cosmovision to today’s world.
  • go on wildcrafting hikes with our resident Quechua medicine man, Benigno Rayo Días, learning how to harvest honorably.
  • weave together Western and Andean herbalism, working hands-on with plants from both cultures to create a variety of natural medicines.
  • attend a variety of interactive workshops with local Quechua guides, including essential oil distilling, shamanic drum making, and learning about the weaving tradition and the ritual that is woven into every one of their fabrics.
  • sit in ceremony with San Pedro (Wachuma) to deepen our connection with self, with nature, and with Spirit.
  • visit sacred sites and natural places where we’ll share grounded spiritual practices that you can integrate into your own life.

Our hosts designed the space consciously, utilizing natural materials and techniques such as adobe, stones, natural paint dyes, eucalyptus wood, and solar-heated water, all with the intention of connecting and linking us with nature. The common area is surrounded on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows for breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains. The outdoor space has a beautiful private garden with a variety of lounge areas and hammocks for relaxing. Nourishing meals will be provided every day in our cozy family dining room.
