I am passionate of mountain biking, travelling and getting to know people from different corners of the planet. This probably was what more than twenty years ago inspired me to start Mtbtours as a business but also as a way of life.

This was my first time visiting and cycling in Argentina, and I had a fantastic and very memorable time with Mariano and his team cycling in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. Mariano and his team were very welcoming, supportive of everyone, well organized and prepared for each day. The participants on this trip were of a wide range of abilities, but everyone supported each other and had a fantastic time. This trip was physically demanding due to a) 4/5 rides each day peaked between 3700-4100m; but more because b) 6/7 nights in hotels were at 2400 or 2900m, which impeded recovery – I was happily pooped at the end of the trip. If you do this trip and have the opportunity at home to train in an altitude room before hand I would recommend it; it's not necessary, but it will help with your acclimatization once here. Technically the cycling is not difficult. The scenery of this trip was absolutely stunning and nothing like I've ever seen before. The 3rd ride of the trip into the Iruya could very well have been the best ride of my life (it gave the ride to Jerico in Colombia a run for its money) and I would encourage you to come and see the scenery with your own eyes, on a trip organized by Mariano. Thank you Mark for your support and sincere review of the tour we shared only a week ago. It was my pleasure to host you in Argentina. All the best, Mariano

Mariano and his MTB team provided a great 6 day experience. Everything was well panned and each stage clearly outlined (in both Spanish & English). It was a very social trip and you can do as much or as little as you like. We would highly recommend MTB Tours. Geoff & Dee (from Australia)
