Nicole and Rae met for the first time in Nosara when they both facilitated a 100 hour restorative yin teacher training where Power Restore was first formally offered to the world - bonding over a love for surfing, qi gong, and creating the perfect playlist for teaching public classes became a foundation for an instant camaraderie. They are the yin to each other's yang in their vibe and the way that they hold space in trainings and retreats (common ground: always prioritizing playfulness and authenticity). Read on to hear more about their backgrounds!
Hi! It's so nice to meet you:), my name is Nicole. I began teaching at The Bodhi Tree upon its first week of opening and have been holding retreats here since 2017. As a one time, full-time resident, I worked (and practically lived) between the yoga shalas, beach and the juice bar here. Much of the staff still feels like family to me.
My own family and I were co-owners of The Nosara Spanish Institute and lived down by Bakers Beach (the beach closest to Bodhi). I am very connected to the community and love introducing people to a taste of the Nosara that I still know and love.
Power Restore Yoga® was birthed at The Bodhi Tree in 2016 and is the unique brainchild born from my life experience. As a natural extrovert who was always on the move, it was my diagnosis with Lyme disease that would change my world dramatically. Throughout my 7-year healing journey, I have become a passionate student and teacher of restorative yoga, yin, nidra, reiki, breathwork, nervous system regulation, brain retraining, polyvagal theory, cold therapy, kundalini, Qi Gong, jungle medicine, and the list goes on. I remain in awe of the confluence of academia and spirituality, and our ability to consistently prove the efficacy of the wisdom that has been professed and practiced by the sages for millenia.
I have combined my thousands of hours of trainings, teachings and lived experience into a program designed to help others heal from their own unique life challenges. In addition to lending my compassion, deep understanding and personal experience, my goal is to guide you in empowering your body, mind and nervous system to find its own way back to center.
I am living proof that profound healing can happen.
In addition to oodles of certifications in a variety of disciplines including health coaching, and "flow state" training:), I hold a 500-HR RYT and 200-HR E-RYT.
If you're not tired of me yet, you can see more here: www.powerrestoreyoga.com. Or even better on the mat and in the water together in March!
Heyo! My name is Rae - mostly I'm a rest evangelist with the mission to normalize slowing down in an over-worked and under-rested culture. Burnout is real. Too real.
I first discovered yoga and meditation while living through the uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent chemotherapy in college, and I have experienced directly how this practice can heal, restore, and empower the mind, body, and spirit. After my recovery, I went to Nosara Yoga Institute about 15 years ago to complete my 1000 hours of teacher training. I fell in love with the jungle so much that I moved there full time for a couple of years to continue teaching and training.
After teaching yoga full time for 5 years, I expanded my career by opening a software development agency called RANA DEV.
True to her belief in living a life of balance, Rae lends the other hemisphere of her brain to her career in software development with her agency RANA DEV. The yin to that yang is The Rest Movement - her way of inviting others to
learn what she has found to be the most restful, restorative, and seasonally rhythmic approach to existing as a human being.Rae has over 2,000 hours of education and continues to study with her teachers Jane Fryer, Judith Lasater, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, Lorie Dechar, Thomas Droge, and Mimi Kuo Deemer.

TRAVEL TO NOSARA
OPTION 1: Fly into Liberia (LIR). Shuttle 2.5 HOURS to Nosara. (most popular)
OPTION 2: Fly into Liberia (LIR), and fly Sansa Air directly into Nosara. (beautiful views)
OPTION 3: Fly into San Jose (SJO), and fly Sansa Air directly into Nosara (possibly plan for an overnight).
Feel free to begin tracking flights to Liberia now. For the sake of flight planning, the retreat officially begins with 6pm dinner on March 9 and ends March 16th after breakfast; some retreaters might leave earlier in the morning on March 16th for flights. If you find that you need an overnight before or after the retreat, Liberia has a convenient hotel right across from the airport where our shuttle can pick up/drop off any overnighters: Hilton Garden Inn.
As soon as you’ve booked your flight, please forward your info to firstname.lastname@example.org, along with any questions, so I can get your shuttle groups organized.
We are happy to arrange your shuttles to and from Bodhi Tree to the Liberia airport (LIR), Hilton Garden Inn Liberia, or Nosara Airport (NOB). BT’s transportation costs will be determined by how many of you are sharing any given shuttle. Most people choose to fly into Liberia. The shuttles are their own little adventure and can be a fun time to get to know one another, cow gaze, practice your Spanish with your driver or nap off a red-eye. Nosara does have an airport, so if you like little planes and pretty views and want to avoid the long bumpy roads, that’s a great option, too. There is currently only one airline flying into Nosara. Sansa Air.
MAKE SURE YOUR PASSPORT IS UP TO DATE It’s best if it's got at least 6 months beyond our travel date before expiring. Plant it in a safe place, and don't forget where that special place is. You will need your passport to register for the retreat.
NOTE: A liability WAIVER will be sent upon sign up which also includes a cancelation policy acknowledgement. In registering for The Art of Flow, you are agreeing to the terms of the waiver. Please give it a look over upon receipt and send back at your earliest convenience:)
