Join the "flock" for a curated foundations weekend designed specifically for absolute beginners. Over three days, you will master 3D shaping and detailing using acclaimed Goldieknots kits featuring wool from Tammy’s Montana ranch. Between workshops, enjoy the historic charm of the Nome Schoolhouse—whether you’re curling up in a cozy nook to felt or gathering with new friends on our outdoor patio.

The Culinary Experience

Expect more than just "event food." Our in-house chefs prepare world-class, scratch-made meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients. From Thursday’s welcome supper to Saturday’s farewell lunch, your culinary journey will be as inspiring as your creative one.

As the owner of Goldieknots Montana, Tammy manages her own flock of sheep in Lincoln, MT, ensuring that the fiber you work with is of the highest quality—straight from the farm to your needles. With a passion for teaching and a deep love for the heritage of wool, Tammy makes the art of needle-felting and spinning accessible, relaxing, and incredibly fun for makers of all levels.

Join us for a curated foundations weekend designed specifically for absolute beginners. Over three days, you will build your confidence using the acclaimed Goldieknots kits, featuring wool from Tammy’s own Montana flock.

Beyond the classroom, the Nome Schoolhouse is your sanctuary. We offer ample space and cozy nooks throughout the building—perfect for curling up in a quiet corner to keep working on a project or gathering with new friends in our common areas.

Prepare to be fueled by excellence. This retreat features world-class, scratch-made food prepared by our talented in-house chefs. From gourmet suppers to hearty breakfasts, every meal is crafted from scratch using fresh ingredients to ensure your culinary experience is just as memorable as the art you create.

The Itinerary

Thursday: Arrival & Welcome

  • 6:00 PM: Chef’s Welcome Supper. Our first world-class, scratch-made meal in the dining room.

  • 7:30 PM: Social Meet & Greet. Gather with Tammy and your fellow "flock" members to talk wool, view samples, and prepare for a weekend of creating.

Friday: The Creative Deep-Dive

  • 8:30 AM: Breakfast. A fresh, chef-prepared start to the day.

  • 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Morning Session: Needle-Felted Pumpkins. Master core 3D shaping and seasonal textures.

  • 12:30 PM: Lunch. A gourmet, scratch-made mid-day break.

  • 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Afternoon Session: Woodland Gnomes. Focus on character building, beards, and hat shaping.

  • 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Free Time & Exploration. Visit the Nome Schoolhouse Store, shop Tammy’s "pop-up" display of Montana wool, or claim a cozy nook to keep poking away at your projects.

  • 6:00 PM: Gourmet Supper. Relax and enjoy a world-class dinner with the group.

Saturday: Final Flourishes & Farewell

  • 9:00 AM: Breakfast. Enjoy a final scratch-made morning meal.

  • 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Morning Session: Woodland Mushrooms. Master delicate detailing and sturdy stem techniques for these trending forest favorites.

  • 1:00 PM: Farewell Lunch. One last culinary delight from our in-house chefs.

  • 2:00 PM: The Final Flock Wrap-Up. A final showcase of everyone’s work, Q&A for felting at home, and fond farewells before you hit the road.
