About your trip

The ideal blend of African and Spanish culture, tropical satisfaction, and history can be found in the charming seaside city of Cartagena.  We'll embark on a trip that delves deeply into Cartagena's African history by walking through the city, trying local cuisine, learning about the locals and the African influence on their rituals and beliefs, exploring the neighborhood markets, and resting at the city's highest point for a breathtaking view. Following that, we will groove to some salsa music, and travel to Palenque, a town founded by emancipated slaves with strong African roots and a unique history.  We will discover more about their costumes, music, culture, traditions, and beliefs here by taking drum lessons and understanding how the local women's hairstyles played a significant role in their journey to independence. Lastly, We will travel a little distance outside the city to the Totumo Mud Volcano to cleanse yourself in the mud baths, which are said to leave your skin looking and feeling brand new. Join us as we assist you in enjoying the African spirit that permeates this great city for a  transformative and peaceful experience.
