About this trip

THIS RETREAT IS CURRENTLY FULL . . .please contact me to get on the waitlist!

Embrace nature, inspire your yoga practice, and discover the magic that lies in Turkey Run State Park, as you join us on this inspiring fall yoga retreat designed just for you!  Turkey Run State Park is the perfect place to soak up the energy of the ecosystem as we transition into fall.

Fall is a beautiful time of year that encourages us to turn inward, take inventory, and decide what is worth keeping and what we need to let go.  It’s a time of reflection, release and transition. Create your own sense of balance and harmony through yoga, hiking, adventure, exploring, meditating or just basking in nature.    Nourish your body and soul  as you take this opportunity to make this fall truly memorable.

This retreat is hosted by Marla Helton of Serendipity Yoga with guest teachers, Jacquelyn Stephens and Jessi Burchett!

Lodging!

Turkey Run has a wonderful old lodge where you can discover the huge fireplace in the great room, sip coffee on the big balcony looking over the park, swim, hike, explore and take advantage of whatever you want that this amazing park has to offer!

You will make your own reservation through the toll free number 877-563-4371.  We have a block of rooms reserved starting at $89 for a single queen bed (plus tax).  You will need to use the code 0927SY to receive this rate (regular $139).  Rooms are limited so make your reservation as soon as possible.  There is also a campground and other places in the area if you prefer not to stay at the lodge.  The price of the room is not included in the retreat price.

And What About Meals???

Of course you want to know about meals!   We will share in a pitch-in on Friday evening at one of the shelter houses.   There is a nice restaurant at the inn that usually offers a buffet or items off the menu.  Each sleeping room is also supplied with a mini frig, microwave and coffee maker if you choose to bring your own food or snacks.  You are always welcome to leave the park and find a place that suites your palate!

What else do I need to consider?

You will need to provide your own transportation to Turkey Run but if you need a ride I'm sure we will have some folks who could give you a ride.  You will also be responsible for bringing your own props for yoga.  A mat, strap and two blocks and if possible, a blanket should be sufficient.  If you need to borrow props,  just let me know!   Please don't go out and buy anything unless you think you'll use it later.  There is an admission fee to get into the park.

Great location. Excellent accommodations. Food was delicious & my food allergies were honored without hassle. Plenty of free/down time. A plethora of differing yoga practices for all skill levels. Fun activities. Everyone in the group was welcoming & accepting. Marla was fantastic. I highly recommend & would go again next year! Sebastian was professional, friendly & was able to accommodate some ‘off script’ yoga moves. A plus!

This was a perfect retreat for unwinding and finding peace in a beautiful setting. Perfect combination of classes, both yoga and hands on art activities, healing arts and free time. Such a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of nature in this idyllic setting amidst the changing leaves. The food was delicious and it is obvious that the staff strives to include menus for any dietary restriction.. Marla is a dedicated yogini and makes classes accessible to all as she offers modifications for any skill level in a fun and gentle manner. She is also a superb retreat leader. She takes our wishes and turns them into realities, such as the beautiful fire on the front porch one evening. Marla is also adept at melding the personalities of participants and turning us into s cohesive team. The guest treatment specialists, Sebastian and April were very skilled, accommodating and compassionate and added a whole new dimension to our weekend of health and mindful movement. I would recommend Marla's retreat for everyone who wants to unwind from the stresses of everyday life and enjoy a quiet, peaceful weekend of self exploration among the vibrant fall foliage of beautiful Brown County.

Marla is a gifted retreat leader. She knows how to make yoga accessible to all. It's no wonder she has a tribe of women who would follow her globe trotting retreat adventures all over the world! I certainly hope to retake this particular retreat next year as it's rare to find a cozy fall retreat so close to home and I had to leave early this time.

I have never been on a more amazing yoga retreat. I can't say enough good things about it. The accommodations were settled amongst the Fall foliage of Waycross conference center. From the wonderful campfire to the beautiful balconies off of our hospitality suite and yoga room, everything was designed for peace and reflection in nature. The amazing hospitality, yoga, and wonderful community was perfect! In addition to the delicious food and wonderful staff, we had two of the most amazing and compassionate massage specialists. We booked whatever treatment we wanted and everyone was settling into true Bliss by the end of this retreat. I can't recommend a retreat with Marla strongly enough. She goes out of her way to create the perfect environment for all who attend. Most of us are looking forward to joining her in Mexico in February!
