What a country! Stunning, adventurous, no shortage of hikes, fabulous food, educational, and a great itinerary. Our driver / tour guide, Nahgie, was a step above, and our seamless vacation went without a hiccup due to a guy who can quickly pivot, make new arrangements, and handle logistics with ease. This trip was over two decades in the making and we leave with memories we will never forget. I now know why my Dad fell in love with this country many moons ago.... I will definitely be back....
Our group retreat for 10 couples to Amomoxtli Hotel in Tepoztlan, Mexico was so well organized by Andrea at Karibu Adventures. We had a challenging mix of business and pleasure and wanted to both dive into some local adventures as well as experience some higher end touches and this was delivered beautifully. Our days were fun and full but not rushed. And the food and hospitality was excellent. All in all a 10 out of 10! Thank you!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to British Columbia with Karibu Adventures. The slogan “vacation with purpose” is definitely accurate! Andrea has curated a collection of activities and experiences that are both exhilarating and thought provoking. While kayaking the peaceful waters of the Johnstone Strait, our Kingfisher guides were delighted to share their knowledge regarding marine biology, the environment and conservation efforts. We saw orcas, humpbacks, sea lions, dolphins, seals, sea otters, sea stars, urchins, countless bald eagles and so much more! While bear watching we witnessed a mama bear catching and devouring spawning salmon out of the river. Our guides used their local knowledge to locate grizzlies and black bear families playing at different spots along the shoreline, as well as capturing breathtaking views of whales and other sea life. We felt safe (and awestruck) at all times!
Andrea’s relationships with members of the local Indigenous communities offered us a unique opportunity to learn more about the Peoples of the area and the impact of residential schools and cultural genocide. Hearing these accounts was absolutely heart breaking; hearing about local efforts to revitalize cultural practices (like Potlaches), as well as to achieve economic and language sustainability speaks to the resilience of these Nations. We felt more like “witnesses” than “tourists” and left British Columbia with a deep commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
Absolutely fantastic trip curated by Karibu adventures to Alagna Valsesia! Phenomenal scenery, exquisite food, great group camaraderie and incredibly beautiful boutique hotel accommodations.
