When it comes to canoeing in Ontario, Algonquin Park is what first comes to mind. But venture just an hour or so further north and the crowds fall away, the trees get bigger, the lakes get deeper and the Canadian Shield gets bolder.

• Swim in a secret lagoon with a 30ft waterfall and explore the granite cliffs and old growth forests of Wolf Lake

The meeting point for our Temagami trip is approximately 430 km due north of Toronto (5-hour drive) and 87 km from Sudbury (1.20 hours by car). The closest town is Hagar, Ontario. Detailed driving instructions are provided on booking. For those flying into Sudbury, a vehicle pick-up can be arranged for an additional fee. Guests are then picked up by boat at the southern tip of Maskinonge Lake, at a place called Jonas Landing. Cars can be parked here. Detailed driving instructions are provided upon booking.

Medical travel insurance

Medical travel insurance is required for non-Canadian residents. Your insurance plan should include full medical coverage, emergency evacuation and emergency repatriation.

We also highly recommend travel interruption insurance.

When booking, customers are given the choice of how they want to pay. Customers can avoid credit card processing fees of 2.7-2.9% by paying via bank account debit or by bank transfer.
