About this trip

We are excited to lead our newest experience of contemporary culture in Iceland's two largest cities and the sublime landscapes of the northern coast. We've curated dinner parties, concerts, artist studio visits, architectural tours, design stores, and farm-to-table cuisine in the cosmopolitan capital of Reykjavik. Then we will head north on a six-day adventure to immerse ourselves in waterfalls, lava fields, glaciers, fjords, crater lakes, rainbows, whales, and wild horses. We'll visit talented musicians, artists, and experts on Icelandic folklore in every destination throughout these Arctic hinterlands.

I had an extraordinary trip to Southern Iceland with Project Por Amor. All of the details of the trip were finely thought out to provide an exceptional experience. I greatly appreciated the intimate experiences of visiting artist studios and homes for conversation, viewing visual art and listening to musical performances. The landscape sights the group visited were amazing and otherworldly as well.

What a fabulous experience. Sage introduced us to amazing artists, musicians, journalists, storytellers, delicious food, remarkable architecture & breathtaking landscapes. What a fantastic introduction to incredible Iceland.

There are barely enough superlatives to describe how special Sage’s Por Amor tours are. We have now done both Cuba and Iceland with him as tour organizer and guide. Each is made special by the personal connections that Sage has built with local musicians, artists and others whom Sage introduced us to.. Food is excellent, hotels are clean and comfortable and sometimes luxurious Sage goes out of his way to ensure that everything works for everyone. And if our two experiences are typical, his groups are composed of the nicest most interesting people. Five stars are not enough to indicate how special both the Iceland and Cuba trips are.

It is a real pleasure to travel with Sage Lewis, who is always friendly and helpful. He organizes trips to make sure that we meet local people and learn as much as possible about life and customs of the places we are visiting. This is my third trip with him.

We usually make our own arrangements when we travel. And we are so glad that Project por Amor did all the legwork for Cuba. We experienced food, dance and music that would never have happened had we been on our own. Thanks so much!
