RECODED SESSIONS - Even though the live sessions are complete you can use these recordings to learn at your own pace.
Session Recordings will be available for 2 months after the original air date.
Each session is 2.5 hours and includes: Lecture, Āsana, Dhyāna (Meditation), Mantra, Prāṇāyāma, and Kriyā.
The most important thing to remember when working with practices of bhakti (devotion) is that we are never looking outside ourselves to find wholeness. Instead, we turn to the archetypes of the Hindu devas and devīs to recognize their qualities—seemingly hidden, yet already alive within us. Rather than giving our power away, we awaken to deeper compassion, confidence, and courage by seeing our own reflection in the form of the divine.
The Deity Within is a 7-day online training program open to all levels of students interested in the mythological stories of Hindu deities and their relevance to daily sādhana (practice) and life.
Over the course of the week, we’ll explore 12 deities, studying 2–3 deities per session through an integrated blend of lecture, group discussion, dhyāna (meditation), mantra, and āsana practice, each dedicated to a specific deity.
You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of:
Trimūrti — The Male Trinity: Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Śiva
Tridevī — The Female Goddesses and consorts of the Trimūrti: Sarasvatī, Lakṣmī, and Pārvatī
Devatā Itihāsa (Deity Mythology): Historical stories of how the deities came into manifestation
Mūrti Śāstra (Iconography): The symbolic and physical representations of the deities
Mantra Śāstra: How to invoke specific deities for specific intentions or transformations
This training is designed for all practitioners—new or seasoned—who wish to deepen their philosophical understanding and experience the roots of yoga beyond the physical.
The only requirements are dedication and receptivity.
Throughout the week, you’ll be guided through thoughtfully crafted practices that honor and weave together various yoga traditions, including Katonah, Kuṇḍalinī, Dharma, Aṣṭāṅga, and Ghoṣa lineages.
This is an opportunity to explore the higher limbs of yoga (aṣṭāṅga-yoga) in a supportive, interactive, and heart-centered community environment.
These are the tools that I’ve returned to again and again over the past decade—ones that have helped me cultivate a more coherent sādhana and a more easeful, loving life.

I began my practice over a decade ago in an attempt to metabolize deep grief and to understand the human condition through my own. After countless hours of practice and self-study, I began to shed the protective layers of my personality. I found myself thinking less and feeling more. I know now that our true nature is to love and to move from a space of open-hearted compassion. I aim to get students back to this simple truth.
My classes weave Ashtanga, Kundalini Gosh and Katonah Yoga together to create a rigorous inward exploration of the self. I also use vedic meditation, mantra and kriya as tools to reach higher states of consciousness through the physical form.
My goal is for practitioners to leave with a stronger connection to themselves and to all sentient beings.
