❓FAQs

What if I've never done yoga before?

Amazing! All yoga, breathwork, and meditation practices offered are completely optional. Beginner friendly practices will be led by highly-trained instructors (Maria & Sofiya), and can be modified to any level. The purpose of mindfulness practices on this retreat is to slow down and connect with yourself on a deeper level. No experience is required, and there is zero pressure to participate if it's not your thing.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes. All guests will receive a survey from Synergy Retreat Center close to departure to ensure that the menu takes into account all dietary restrictions and food allergies. For any meals outside of the retreat center, Costa Rica has great local restaurants that are generally able to accommodate dietary requests.

Is this retreat for me even if I don't want to solo travel?

Yes! We are here to help you connect with yourself more deeply and navigate the world in adventurous ways, but this doesn't have to be through solo travel. For friends interested in sharing a private room (one bed), we offer discounted pricing. Please send an email to hello@embodiedadventurercollective.com for more details.

Should I purchase travel insurance?

We recommend purchasing an international travel insurance plan as soon as possible. Our platform offers coverage through Trawick International at the time of booking, or you can purchase separately. Please ensure coverage includes trip cancellation/interruption and medical emergencies.

Do I need to be in good physical health?

While all activities are optional, we recommend at least a moderate level of physical fitness. The Diamante Private Reserve is a challenging approximately 3km hike with 800 feet of elevation gain, followed by optional rappelling down an 85 foot waterfall. Our best guidance is to listen to your body and embrace new challenges while always respecting your own limits.

👯‍♀️ Meet Your Hosts

The Embodied Adventurer Collective was created by two women, Sofiya and Maria, who have spent more than a decade traveling the world solo. Our mission is to guide women in overcoming the fears that hold them back from exploring and open the door to the wonder, connection, and personal power waiting on the other side.

We believe solo travel is one of the most transformative experiences a woman can have. Through intentional guidance, meaningful community, and curated adventures, we help women cultivate the confidence to travel independently while still feeling held by a supportive small group.

Our retreats create a bridge from uncertainty to courage, from hesitation to expansion, from traveling alone to finally feeling at home in the world. We invite you to join us as you learn to connect with the world by honing your senses of adventure, awe, and belonging.
