Day 1 we are picking you up from the airport or your last destination and getting you settled in your hotel room in KTM.
While most participants choose to arrive on day 1, some participants choose to arrive a few days early to adjust to the time zone change (night and day change for US travelers!) and get to know the city on their own.
If you arrive early, simple food and drink will be available to you.
A welcome dinner for all participants will be hosted in the evening.
Learn from local ParticipAid leaders in your first history & culture workshop.
Tour the breathtaking world heritage sight Boudhanath.
Travel to Fakhel, our working community, and connect with village leaders and indigenous practitioners in a facilitated discussion.
After a comfortable stay at a nearby lakeside town, you'll get to meet some of the youth benefiting from our services. Participate in a fun school-based education program!
On our final day in Fakhel, you'll meet with indigenous medicine practitioners and learn their stories. Together, you'll make plant medicine that you can bring home with you.
After this workshop, we'll travel to an organic farm and lodge in the small town of Jhule where we'll rest for the evening.
In Jhule, we'll rest and integrate our experiences in the village. Delicious organic food and short hikes for Himalayan views are available!
In the late afternoon, we'll travel back to Kathmandu.
After zooming in on your experience in one village, we'll use the next couple of days to think about Nepal as a nation.
On Day 7 we'll visit another incredible World Heritage sight important to the people of Nepal - the Hindu holy site of Pashupatinath.
Revel in this once-in-a-lifetime experience! We'll travel by helicopter from Kathmandu to a site up close and personal with Mt. Everest for a champagne breakfast.
The rest of the day is for comradery, relaxation, and integration.
We'll meet once more with our Nepal team and local patrons to consolidate what we've learned and commit to our role in creating a healthier Nepal.
You'll have free time to explore Kathmandu on your own for shopping or additional sightseeing.
Dinner on our final evening will be hosted by one of our local patrons in their home.
On our final day together we have no strict items in the agenda. You'll be renewed in your relationship with yourself and the world and we can spend time and share meals together as you please. Our team will deliver you safely to the airport or to your next destination.
