About this trip

There is a version of Peru that most people miss. They plan the flights, book a hotel in Cusco, power through Machu Picchu on a packed group tour, and leave having checked something impressive off a list. It looks good in photos. But it doesn't quite land the way they hoped it would.

Then, there is the other version. The one where you arrive with a small group of women who travel the way you do, where every logistical detail has already been handled, and where the itinerary is built to let the place actually reach you. The Sacred Valley at altitude, the citadel at Machu Picchu before the crowds arrive, a cooking class in Cusco that turns into one of your favourite evenings of the year, and a coastal extension south to Paracas, where sea lions and Humboldt penguins outnumber the tourists.

That second version is what The Girls Trip Series built when we designed our Peru itinerary. And now, we’re ready to launch this new trip just for you. See you there?

WHY THIS TRIP EXISTS

Because of it's world wonder, Peru is one of those destinations that ends up on every bucket list and stays there for years. The logistics feel complicated, the altitude feels intimidating, and Machu Picchu feels like something you need a travel partner to figure out. This trip was created to change that.

Everything is handled for you: airport transfers, domestic flights, guides, accommodation, and every experience in between. You get to experience one of the most extraordinary places on earth with confidence, without sacrificing depth or independence.

You do not need a travel partner. You do not need to figure it out. You just need to decide you are going.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT

Most people who visit Peru see Machu Picchu and leave. This trip moves differently. Lima introduces you to one of the world's most exciting food cities. The Sacred Valley slows the pace and connects you to living Inca culture - markets, haciendas, salt mines, and ancient ruins that most tourists rush past. Machu Picchu gets the full day it deserves. Cusco gives you time to actually feel the city, not just check it off.

You are not being moved quickly from site to site. There is intention behind how each part of this trip flows, so that it feels immersive rather than overwhelming. We work with local guides who are like family to us and who know this destination deeply.

You are not just seeing Peru, you are being guided through it with context, access, and care.

WHO THIS IS FOR

  • This trip is for the woman who has always wanted to go to Peru but has been waiting for the right time, the right person, or the right way to do it.

  • It is for someone who wants to experience the food, the history, and the landscapes properly...not from the window of a tour bus.

  • It is also for the solo traveler who does not want to do this kind of trip alone, but also does not want to feel like she is on a rigid tour.

  • It is for the woman who can roll with the punches, stay curious when plans shift, and find the magic in the mess, because travel in South America will always have a little of both.

Most women who travel with us come solo — all women leave with connections that feel genuine because everyone made the same decision to be there.

ACCOMODATION STYLE

Every property on this trip has been chosen with intention. We stay in boutique hotels and haciendas that are locally owned and operated — places with character, history, and a genuine connection to the destination. You will not find chain hotels or cookie-cutter rooms on this itinerary.

You will be placed with another woman on the trip as your roomie. We match roomies based on your pre-trip questionnaire answers to team you up with someone we think you'd be most compatible with in terms of sleeping styles and personality. If you would like your own room, please add a single occupancy add on at the time of booking.

TRAVEL STYLE & TRIP EXPECTATIONS

This journey is designed as an overland-style adventure, meaning we’ll be moving across Peru by car, train & flights - taking in the landscapes, culture, and rhythm of the country along the way.

We'll be covering a lot of ground during our 9 days together. Because of that, it's important to note that this trip is more structured than our other destinations. There are a lot more meal and activity inclusions for the Peru trip (vs some other trips that we do) so you can make the most out of the experience. Having said all that, this is still your trip. So if anything feels like a "meh" for you when you wake up, listen to your bod and hang back and rest of take on something else of your liking. Just don't miss the van ;)

Please note that because part of this journey is a road trip in a sprinter van, we ask that women pack accordingly and avoid large-hard top suitcases. Small carry-ons, and larger duffels with wheels work best for the back while personal items can be carried with you up front in the van. We'll set up all travellers with a packing list to help with this beforehand <3

What's the travel style for The Girls Trip Series?

It's important to note that the women who choose to travel on this trip should be hyper-independent. Unlike other group travel experiences and retreats, these trips are designed to give you freedom to explore on your own terms. Women who come on this trip should be mellow, be able to go with the flow, and not depend on other people to make/break their experience. To make sure you're a good energetic fit for the trip and that this is the right investment for you, all interested travellers must be approved via our trip application system.

How Do I Get There?

Fly into Lima (LIM). We will arrange to have you picked up from the airport and brought to our starting hotel. While our arrival day only has a welcome meeting planned for the evening, we hit the road the following day - so it is recommended to arrive a day before the trip starts to avoid any airline and travel delays that would potentially leave you having to try and catch up to the location of the group. Please note that hotels are not covered for early arrivals, and emergency transportation will not be covered should you experience a delay and arrive late.

We fly back from Cusco to Lima on day 9 - so it is advisable to not book a return flight home on day 9 incase you encounter any delays.

Are There Fitness Requirements For This Trip?

While the activity level for this trip is low and we are not doing the Inca Trail hike, we ask that travellers with pre-existing medical conditions get clearance from their health professionals to travel.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes! All participants must have travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen events. If you do not have coverage via your credit card, you can purchase it separately.
