This is Tanzania at its most iconic. Nine days. Four destinations. One unforgettable journey from the wild heart of Africa to the turquoise shores of the Indian Ocean.
Your adventure kicks off in Arusha before heading deep into Tarangire National Park, where enormous elephant herds roam beneath ancient baobab trees. From there, the vast plains of the Serengeti open up before you. Big cats. Sweeping savannahs. Golden-hour game drives that feel like scenes straight out of a nature documentary.
Next up, the legendary Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into one of the world's most concentrated wildlife ecosystems, where lions, rhinos, zebras, and flamingos all share the same spectacular stage.
Then, just when you think it can't get better, it does. A short flight carries you to Zanzibar, where powdery white beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a vibrant island culture are waiting. Explore the winding alleyways of Stone Town, float out to a remote sandbank, or simply let the rhythm of the ocean slow everything down.
Safari by day. Sundowners at dusk. Beach life by the end of the week. This is the complete Tanzania experience, and it was made for you. This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure designed for women who crave more: connection, discovery, and stories that will stay with you long after the (insanely long) plane ride home.
🌍 Safari, Crater & Coast in One Trip
From the sweeping plains of the Serengeti to the turquoise waters of Zanzibar, this itinerary takes you through Tanzania's most iconic destinations without missing a beat. The safari circuit flows naturally from one park to the next before landing you on one of the most beautiful islands in the world. And yes, a domestic flight is included so the transition is seamless. Please note that this is an overland style trip. There will be more moving around and trip inclusions given the nature of the destination. You are not required to take part in any inclusions you are not interested in if you prefer to rest or take on something else!
🦁 Wildlife & Safari Moments
Elephant herds in Tarangire, big cats on the Serengeti, and the concentrated wildlife of Ngorongoro Crater. Prepare to be completely awestruck. Nature will meet you on its own terms. Please note that The Girl Trip Series is not mother nature and does not control nor guarantee specific animal sightings.
✨ Transformative Adventure
Whether it's watching the sun sink over the Serengeti with a drink in hand, sharing a game drive with new friends, or wading into the Indian Ocean for the very first time, this journey is about more than just places. It's about people, stories, and sisterhood.
🏡 Comfort-Style Accommodation
Our stays are chosen with care: clean, safe, and full of character, from tented safari lodges that put you right in the heart of the bush to a beautiful beachfront resort in Zanzibar. We've designed this trip around comfort...not five-star luxury, but not bare-bones budget either. This balance ensures you can enjoy a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure without the price tag soaring into the typical safari 15K+ territory.
This trip is designed for women who want to step outside the ordinary. Whether you’re marking a milestone, craving adventure, or simply ready to prioritize yourself, this journey is a chance to:
Experience bucket-list moments in a safe, supportive group of women.
Travel without the stress of planning every detail.
Connect with like-minded travelers who become lifelong friends.
Please note that this is an overland style trip that will have long days and lots of moving. If you're looking to stay put in a single spot and have something super luxurious - this is not for you. We've tried to create a trip and price it as accessibly as we can (in Canadian $$) without going too budget in accommodations and compromising quality.
On this trip we will be accompanied by a local guide who will also act as our driver. Their role is to enhance your experience in Tanzania to ensure it's a truly memorable adventure. Our local guide will be knowledgeable in the landscape we travel through and our surroundings. This includes being able to provide us with details about animals, geography, ora and fauna, native customs and safety. With some luck, they’ll spot a leopard lounging in a tree, a giraffe enjoying the leaves of an acacia tree or introduce you to some of our local friends who call this landscape home.
Our driver and guide is like family to us. Please treat them that way. While we pay our guides/drivers an above average wage, gratuities at the end of the trip for them is highly encouraged.
PASSPORT
You’ll need a valid passport to travel internationally andmost countries require your passport to have a minimum of 6 months validity, so remember to check the expiry date. We need your passport information to get everything ready for your trip so it’s important that the information on your booking matches your passport exactly. Please take care to provide the correct details.
We recommend carrying a copy of the photo page of your passport while travelling and leaving a copy at home with family or friends.
VISAS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Please check to see if your country's passport required obtaining a visa. This is the responsibility of the traveller and not The Girls Trip Series. We recommend you check your visa requirements as soon as you have booked your trip. This will ensure you have time to prepare your documents and for your visa application to be processed. You can check the entry requirements for your nationality on your government's foreign travel advisories.
We will cater for specific dietary requirements and allergies while travelling. Please notify your group leader of any dietary requirements in your group meeting at the start of the trip. For those suffering from particular food allergies, your group leader will endeavour to disclose to their fullest knowledge the main ingredients in dishes being consumed. It is, however, your personal responsibility to ensure that you do not ingest any foods to which you are allergic.
Alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages are not part of included meals.
LODGE-PACKED MEALS: There are a number of days on this itinerary where your breakfast or lunch will be a ‘packed picnic meal’ provided by our lodge. Packed meals usually consist of a rice/salad/poke style bowls along with fruits, waters and snacks.
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, and getting the best possible views of Tanzania's iconic wildlife. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows that let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. We have also planned this trip to not be in the heart of soaring summer temperatures. This was intentional for both your comfort & animal sightings.
There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
This trip booking will have you placed in a shared room with another traveller. An upgrade to a single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability.
This trip finishes on arrival in Zanzibar on Day 9. We will not have any scheduled activities on departure day - please feel free to book any departing flight of your choice. Should you wish to stay and extend your trip, we offer free extension planning services to all travellers
