The name says it all.
As a Good Samaritan, you will spend a week in Haiti working with and inspiring the next generation of leaders. The Good Samaritan trip follows a skills-based volunteering model, leveraging the specialized skills and talents of professionals to fill gaps at the nonprofits we partner with in order to achieve their long term sustainable goals. This year’s nonprofit beneficiary is HAC Haiti, a 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to creating sustainable development in Haiti by providing opportunities for education, health, and economic self-sufficiency.
This year’s Good Samaritan volunteers will have the opportunity to inspire and empower high school students and young adults to achieve their dreams and career goals. Our team, with the help of HAC staff and creole proficient translators will help deliver courses ranging from business development and finance, marketing and social media, and budgets and finance. At the end of the week, the aspiring student entrepreneurs will participate in an small business competition to pitch their ideas to their peers and our judges for a chance to win a business grant or college scholarship from Purpose Driven Passports. We anticipate a total of 75 students with 25 students occupying each classroom at a time. There will be three classrooms, which will train students in the foundations of entrepreneurship, marketing and social media, and budgets and finance.
The most unique part about The Good Samaritan package, however, is that it starts even before you leave. Purpose Driven Passport x Haiti Got it provides a forum in which you can raise funds for our beneficiary organization to assist in their mission with the help of your friends and family.
The gift of your time and support – and of the people in your life – makes The Good Samaritan trip an invaluable opportunity to make a difference with the help of your community.

We know you were thinking it.
The short answer: Yes.
While many popular images of Haiti show a country that suffers from poverty and a long history of government shortcomings, in 2016, UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) voted Haiti one of the safest countries in the Americas. Haiti’s death rate of 6.9 out of every hundred thousand Haitians is among the lowest in the Americas, the same as Long Beach, California.
For those of you who have had a Haitian friend warn you against going to Haiti, many times the hesitation and fear by the Haitian Diaspora of returning to Haiti is primarily due to the experiences of their parents (or grandparents): the crises their ancestors witnessed may have become the images they painted for their children, their children’s children, and sadly now, you.
It’s a new day in Haiti. Come see for yourself.
To begin your Haiti Got it journey, once you have landed at Toussaint Louverture Port au Prince International airport (PAP), you will be greeted by your VIP Expeditor, for expedited airport and customs processing and luggage retrieval, then led out to your awaiting Haiti Got it driver for transport to your hotel, located in the Port Au Prince suburb of Petionville.
Tonight, join us for our signature Haiti Got it Welcome Reception. A night of music, food, swag, and new faces.
