Experience more than 200,000 wildebeest calves being born within 2 weeks...
Experience the wonder and immensity of the Great Migration on the vast plains of the Serengeti—witness great numbers of wildebeest calves being born within the space of a few weeks.
This safari has been designed with the aim of witnessing the Great Migration during the calving season. At the beginning of the short rainy season end of October, the herds of wildebeest start arriving at the short-grass plains of the Serengeti around early November. The short-grass plains are located in the area east and south of the Seronera-the heart of the Serengeti, around the Ndutu area and the northern Ngorongoro Conservation area. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra can easily be seen roaming around the plains as they feed on the green pastures. It has been recorded that more than 200,000 calves of wildebeest are born during the first two weeks of February.
They normally stay in the area till early April and later start heading west towards the Grumet River and Musabi plains in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park.
