In September 2018 I will be joining a team of educators, community activists and developers, small business owners, artists and others who will embark on a week long journey to provide much needed educational resources and supplies to the impoverished people of Woadze, a small village about 3 hours outside of Accra Ghana. The villagers we will care for are only able to receive education in buildings with no running water or electricity. In most classrooms there is only one book, belonging to the teacher and limited educational resources all around. These conditions however do not stop the students from being extremely focused, respectful, ambitious, and down right intelligent. As a volunteer I will be helping to bring the educational resources to Woadze from Cincinnati, as we collectively create a Resource Library for the children there.

Tuesday - Day 2
7am: Travel to the Village of Woadze

Get ready for a life changing experience as we travel 2 1/2 hours outside of Ghana's capital through village after town. See everyday Ghana up close and personal as we tread the dirt roads and deep greens. Once arriving in Woadze, be prepared to help create the Resource Library Space for the Woadze neighborhood school sponsored by Sweet Sistah Splash, Sponsors, Donors & Friends.

7pm: Dinner at an Authentic Ghanaian Restaurant as we return to Accra

9am: Cape Coast Slave Castle - The Great Return

Get ready for an emotion packed and powerful day as we travel south to return through "the door of no return" at Cape Coast Slave Castle. After our tour, participate in a moving Ceremony Honoring our Ancestors.

2pm: Kakum National Park & Rain Forest

Connect with Nature after an emotionally charged experience. Enjoy a 1-hr hike in one of the most sought after rain forests. Located in southern Ghana, Kakum National Park offers visitors the chance to explore a tract of unspoiled tropical rainforest filled with fascinating animals - including rare forest elephants and buffalo. Over 250 different bird species have been recorded within the park, and there's an excellent canopy walkway measuring some 1150 feet/350 meters. Followed by a Tranquil Mountain stop.
