While in the Heart of Costa Rica near Arenal Volcano, enjoy daily yoga classes, hiking, swimming, relaxing on site, and nurturing ourselves with three healthy, delicious meals each day. Daily all level Yoga classes will be taught by Kara Keating & Carole Sondalle, both seasoned yoga teachers who collectively have close to sixty years of experience teaching yoga holistically. Each morning we will enjoy breath, meditation, and movement. Afternoon classes will focus on relaxation, and going deeper. Evening gatherings may include talks with the teachers. Kara teaches modern hatha yoga as both science and art. Carole designs her classes from her extensive background in Iyengar, kundalini, and vinyasa yoga. Beginners to yoga are warmly welcomed. Most major airlines fly to the Liberia airport. We suggest purchasing your ticket 6-8 weeks prior to flying, unless there is a fabulous sale! We will keep you posted as schedules open up, closer to the time.

Costa Rica is a beautiful country! If you have the time to stay after the retreat and explore, there are many options nearby. If you wish to arrive a day or two prior to the retreat there is a Hilton Garden Inn right near the airport, with a free shuttle, a restaurant, and a pool. Journey to the Inner Light Yoga Retreat Begins
We will be picked up at the Liberia, Costa Rica International airport and transported to Mystica Lodge. After arriving and settling in to our rooms, we will meet for an opening circle and gentle yoga practice to balance and refresh ourselves after traveling. Dinner begins at 6pm. After dinner, rest up for the week ahead.

Our Day at Mystica
We begin our day with meditation and practice on the La Essencia Yoga Platform by the river, followed by a delicious breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast we will meet at the labyrinth for a talk and practice. After lunch there is plenty of time to explore the area around the lodge. Hike 30 minutes to a 300 year old Ceiba tree. Take a dip in the pool by the river. Walk down to Lake Arenal. At 4pm we will meet again at La Essencia for a gentle meditative flow. After dinner we will meet at the Ramadasa house for an evening talk.

Our Day in La Fortuna
Good Morning! After a short morning practice and breakfast we will take off at 8:30 for La Fortuna, (75 minutes) the town that sits at the base of Volcano Arenal. Our first stop will be for a hike (90 minutes) to the Fortuna Waterfall, located within a nature preserve. There are 530 steps down to the waterfall, which means there are 530 steps up afterwards! Those who wish to see the waterfall but not do the hike will be able to see it.
After the hike, we will be transported to Eco Termales Hot Springs, where, after a sumptuous lunch, we can soothe our tired feet and bodies in the nourishing mineral waters of the Volcano (2 hours). After we have been refreshed, our driver will deliver us back to Mystica for a delicious dinner. Good Night!

Lodge Day & Sound Journey
Today we will be "At Home" in our bodies, minds and souls. Our practices will bring out the Inner Light of each individual and consequently, the collective. The embodied Self becomes a pathway to expanded consciousness! Enjoy the beautiful surroundings, journal, receive healing, walk the labyrinth, and importantly, do some hammock time. The day culminates with a sacred Sound Journey with Helena Buell,, dinner, and some time to observe the night sky before a restful and nourishing sleep.

Our Day at the Beach
Beach Day, Hooray! After an early breakfast we will be transported to the West coast of Costa Rica (90 minutes drive) to Playa Hermosa. One of the best maintained beaches in the country, Playa Hermosa offers visitors crystal clear blue waters and gorgeous scenery. Meaning ‘beautiful beach’ in Spanish, Playa Hermosa has made a name for itself with its idyllic beauty and lush surroundings.A two-kilometer long grey sand beach, encircled by tropical forests and ridges of volcanic rock. Our yoga practice will be on the sand, gazing out at the ocean. Our lunch will overlook the beach, at the Bosque Del Mar. After relaxing and soaking up more beach time, we will head back to Mystica in time for dinner. A long and lovely day in Costa Rica!

Day of Joy and Wonder
Today, we will focus on cultivating the joy of our time together. Friendships have been formed. Time in solitude and time to be together has balanced out our Journey to the Inner Light. This is a wonderful day to receive a healing treatment. Our yoga practices will be generous, as we celebrate and share our light with each other. During our last night dinner at Mystica, we will be treated to a local Marimba band, and dancing may happen!

Day of departure
Morning closing ceremony brings us together as we prepare for our various further destinations. Saying goodbye to paradise is always hard, but we will be carrying the light of our time together in our hearts until....the next time! After breakfast we will be transported to the Liberia airport for a different reality. Adios Costa Rica, con mucho gusto! May the Pura Vida life continue within each one of us!
