Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your driver at the pickup area + transfer (45mins) to check in at the GRAN MELIA ARUSHA - 5 STAR HOTEL- An oasis within Arusha set out on 18 acres of beautiful landscaped coffee and tea plantations. Pure tranquility with spectacular views of Mount Meru.

7:45pm Meet & Greet  + Welcome Dinner at the Hotel.

After early breakfast, depart for Mt. Kilimanjaro day hike (2.5 hour drive).

9:30am -2:30pm Hike 5.5 miles up to Mandara Hut near the upper edge of the forest line. The hike takes about 3-5 hours. The path is interesting, starting through rain forest vegetation, and then opening up to giant heather. If time and weather permit, a short walk from Mandara to Maundi Crater is worth it. Stop for a picnic lunch then walk back to Marangu gate, meet our driver.

3:00pm- 5:30pm Drive back for overnight at Gran Melia  - 5 star hotel

Breakfast + Check out of Hotel. Roadtrip to the Ngorongoro Crater - one of the most mesmerizing natural features in the world, the largest unfilled inactive volcanic crater, or caldera, in the world. At the base of 610m cliff faces elephants trumpet, lions roar, and antelope…eat grass. 9:00am-12:00pm Safari game drive and take photographic memories at the rim of the crater + Meet the Maasai tribe

Enjoy a picnic Lunch in the middle of Serengeti then depart to arrive to check in at the Tented Lodge - The lodge has a main building situated in top of a hill with 360 degree views of spectacular landscape. The premises include an area to relax with comfortable sofas, outdoor and indoor restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool. Every evening a camp fire is lit and guests can enjoy the sunset with drinks and appetizers. Weather permitting dinner will be served outside under the stars.

Option 1: Air balloon Safari in Serengeti. 4am Depart for an unforgettable journey above the Serengeti. Some things are worth getting up early for and this is certainly one of them. Rising before the birds and heading out in the silence of the pre-dawn towards the launch-site is all part of the anticipation.

6:15am-8:15am Experience the great migration with a bird’s-eye view and soar over the plains at sunrise during a hot air balloon safari, after celebrate with Campagne +

9:00am-10:00am Whisk off by safari car to your special Serengeti breakfast. After the air balloon, head out for safari game drive as your return to your lodge to rest + Lunch. 4:00pm-6:00pm Head out for an evening game drive. Return for Dinner + night over at lodge. 

OPTION 2:  FULL DAY SAFARI GAME DRIVE

6:00am -6:50am Breakfast

7:00am-11:30am Head out game safari a catch a glimpse of the wildebeest’s spectacular trek + take photographic memories. Return to rest or go swimming with a wildlife view + Lunch the lodge + 4pm-6pm Evening sunset game drive or stay at lodge. Return for dinner + Rest.

12:00pm-3:30pm The class entails making swahili food with a local chef using local ingredients. It is hands-on participatory class each student will be involved in preparation and cooking.

Cooking: Pilau (spice rice) is a festive dish, well-known and much loved in the Zanzibar archipelago. In this workshop, you will learn to prepare it, using many of Zanzibar’s fresh and aromatic spices – and of course you will get to eat it afterwards. You’ll take home the recipe and can then treat your friends and family to this beautiful and fragrant dish.

Lunch is served after class.

3:30pm -7:30pm Transfer to Stone town to check in + Free time to rest or shopping

8:00pm - Head out for dinner + nightlife in the old city.

Dress Code: Dress modest- a long skirt or loose-fitting pants are also good in the heat and will protect you from the sun. You can wear loose and below the knee, cover shoulders and if you can, elbows. Women - Take some loose covering, or buy a scarf to cover head and shoulders if in doubt.
