About this trip

The Land Remembers. Seven nights at a retreat center in the Burren, County Clare — the sacred sites, the stone circles, the history of feminine power written into the landscape itself. A small group of women, walking where she walked.

Welcome to Ireland

This one is about the women who came before us. Not the version in the history books. The one the land kept.

In the west of Ireland, there’s an old story about the Cailleach. The hag. The keeper of winter. The old woman who shaped the hills with her own hands and was honored for it, long before anyone decided she was something to fear. Her name is still all over the Burren. On the cliffs, in the stones, at the wells people kept visiting long after they were told to stop. For seven nights, we go looking for her.

Danielle has been hosting retreats around the world for seven years, and this is the one she’s been circling the longest. She’s spent years reading and writing about women’s history, aging, and the parts of ourselves we were taught to make smaller. Ireland is where all of that stops being an idea and becomes a place you can stand in.

She’s hosting alongside Nya, founder of Soulga, a yoga teacher, teacher trainer, and social worker who has spent nearly two decades holding space for people. Nya is the kind of person who notices when you’ve gone quiet and knows whether you need company or room. Between the two of them, whatever comes up out there has somewhere to land.

Mornings start slow, with yoga and quiet practice to settle in before the day begins. Then we go out into it. Ancient stone forts and a portal tomb older than the pyramids. The cliffs at Hag’s Head. A guided walk through the Burren’s sacred sites, where pagan and Christian history sit right on top of each other, including St Brigid’s Well. A boat out to the Aran Islands, a cave underground, and a castle for good measure.

Go to all of it, or skip what doesn’t call to you. Some afternoons are for a fire, a book, and a long walk with nowhere to be. In this group, choosing rest isn’t missing out. It’s part of the work.

Evenings are for the table. Good food, long conversations, and that thing that happens when a small group of women stops performing for each other. By midweek, people are saying things out loud they haven’t said in years.

Accommodations, transportation, and the planned experiences are taken care of, so you can stop managing everything for once and just be here.

This isn’t a history tour. It’s a chance to stand somewhere that still remembers what women were before they were told to be less, and see what that stirs up in you.
