About this trip

A WOMXN’S YOGA + SACRED GATHERING RETREAT

Journey back to the heart of being. This is an invitation to slow down, to realign with the rhythms of nature, to gather in the collective spirit of the embodied feminine, and reawaken the heart’s calling.

Join for a 4-day womxn’s retreat in the Northern California wilderness. Through daily yoga asana, pranayama and meditation we summon the body’s regenerative power and cultivate self-care practices to restore our holistic being. Through ritual and sacred circle we rediscover our unique magick, connect with the infinite web of womanhood, and what it means to be human - exploring themes that invite our most authentic selves to step forth.

Call in your deepest self, replenish your mind, body, spirit and connect with the collective strength of sisterhood.

A Journey To Love | A Return to Self

At the core of our being is love. Yet in our busy day and age, it is easy to become disconnected from our source. The intention is simple: to slow down, reawaken our body’s wisdom, connect with our heart’s truest intentions and embrace the fullness of our beings with love and kindness.

  • Rejuvenate and replenish in silent wilderness of Woodacre California
  • Reconnect to the medicine of Nature, the subtle rhythms of that cultivate balance and harmony
  • Discover the art of sacred self-care for our modern times
  • Connect with the power of voice, expression, vulnerability, and being seen
  • Explore the strength of community, sisterhood, and our interconnectedness
  • Reawaken to your body’s wisdom and healing intelligence
  • Offering rituals as acts of self-love

The Movement

Enjoy two yoga classes daily, intended to inspire embodied awareness and personal expression. Each class is guided with deep intention, mindfulness and Ayurvedic principles to integrate body, mind and heart. Morning Asana is inspired by solar energy, a mindful vinyasa class unfolding conscious awareness through the dance of breath with movement. In the afternoon, we wind down the day with a lunar-inspired practice such as Restorative with Hot Stones, Aromatherapy Grounding Flow, or Yoga Nidra Sound Meditation with Himalayan Singing Bowls crafted under the Full Moon.

One can expect meditation, pranayama, breath awareness, mudra and mantra. Whether a seasoned practitioner or new yogi, instruction and modifications are given for each individual explore one’s potential. These practices are crafted with the intention to reconnect and rediscover all that you are.

Sacred Circle

Sacred circle is an ancient tradition that lives in our bones.  Returning to circle is a supportive vessel inviting the feminine spirit, the one that is receptive, allowing, passionate, wild, and alive.  We’ll sit in conscious agreement to be vulnerable, we’ll sit in what is, we’ll sit with women in commitment to a deeper understanding of who we are and who they really are - to remember who we are together by sharing our lives and sacred hearts.

The Nourishment

Enjoy a retreat menu intentionally crafted to nourish and heal. Each meal is made with Ayurvedic principles that align with the season and the local harvest. Food is medicine and has the power to shift the vibration of our being.

Our Chef, Donica Tomko, prepares each dish with enthusiasm, intention and love. All meals are plant-based with organic ingredients that are sourced for their high quality, nutrient-dense and nourishing essence. We support our local farmers when possible.

If you have any special dietary needs or restrictions, we can happily accommodate.

The Spirit House Retreat Space

The Spirit House is a hilltop retreat home overlooking the magical Northern California Valley. Think cozy mornings with the fog rolling over the knolls, warm afternoons to meander the enchanting gardens, forests and open meadows. Evenings where the sunset envelopes your being and the moonrise casts a soft glow around. Without a doubt, the Spirit House is like no other sanctuary.

Located near San Francisco yet feels like a world away - feel time stand still. Spirit House itself is cozy and welcoming with lots of natural wood and south facing passive solar windows, beautiful gardens, and perhaps the best private hot tub deck you’ve ever seen, complete with an outdoor hot and cold water shower. Experience the intentional feng shui and sacred art that lives in the house. Enjoy many quiet nooks for reading and reflection.

Bedrooms at Spirit House are shared, with multiple beds in each bedroom. There is a large yurt–a round semi-permanent tent-like structure–on the property with a wood-burning stove - our sacred place for embodied movement, yoga, and sharing circle. There are goats and often cows in the adjacent pastures. Wildlife is generally abundant around Spirit House–including raven, deer, wild turkeys, and other animals.

Arrive ready to let the residue of daily stress dissolve. Leave with deep reconnection to your truest self.

I attended this retreat last year and I am happy I did it again this year. On this retreat I was able to connect to the earth and ground myself. It was such a treat connecting with nature for the 4 days. I enjoyed the amazing Ayurvedic meals that were so full of life. The Natural Dyeing and Ayurvedic workshops were so wonderful and have helped to kindle my creativity even further. I would recommend this retreat again and again. Gaby and Kristen are amazing humans and I am excited about other offerings they create.

What a special and restorative experience in a beautiful location. I would recommend this retreat to anyone looking for professional and compassionate instructors, out of this world culinary creations made with locally sourced ingredients, and lots of opportunity for reflection, creativity, time in nature, healing, and community, with deep and thoughtful intention put into every part of the retreat. In my experience, wellness retreats/events can get a reputation for being ran sloppily, or behind schedule, or being a little too loose and informal - especially for what you pay for. I'm happy to say, that was not the case with this retreat. Everything was well planned and organized, on schedule without being rushed, and was handled in a professional and intentional manner. I would highly recommend to anyone considering, it was worth every penny and I'd love to attend again.

Great trip. Enjoyed the opportunity to move and reflect in nature with a small group. Facilitators Gaby (yoga and ayurvedic) and Bevie (process painting) were gentle and caring in their approach to allow space for whatever came up. Food by Bella was fantastic and nourishing. Good balance of activities with some down time sprinkled in. Appreciated the opportunity to nourish myself away from the everyday routine.

To sum it up with my own quote on day 3... "I feel like I'm drifting from one pleasurable and interesting thing to the next". This retreat was truly nourishing, grounding, and exciting. Gaby and Kristin were perfect hosts. I can't tell you how much I needed to be in nature, in community, and learning new things. We started each day with freshly made chai by the wonderful Alexann and Czarina (spelling? forgive me) the Ayurvedic chef & her lovely sous chef. Morning yoga was outside each day and I can't tell you how wonderful it was practicing alongside lovely people w/Gaby as our guide. She is patient and thoughtful...a wonderful teacher who possesses a calm open fun vibe. Breakfast was served in the cozy house and each meal brought me closer to deep groundedness within my body. By the time it was over I felt completely nourished and grateful. (and managed to loose a few pounds even though I went back for seconds every delicious meal!) Then we would learn about and experiment with natural dyeing and resist techniques w/Kristin who has a gentle, fun, and informative way of teaching. Her patience with our endless questions was remarkable. She demonstrated and assisted us and cheered us on. I learned about indigo dyeing...something that I've been wanting to learn for years now. I left with confidence that I can do this at home, and we also received a very detailed follow up email with links to refer back to. I cannot WAIT to try some of the things we learned, I'm so inspired! We got a journal in our little welcome bundle of gifts, and I wrote in it every night so I can return to how I felt on this retreat when I feel overworked or stressed. I wanted to make sure to capture the amazingness that was happening all around and inside of me. I can't recommend this more for people who want to learn about plant-based dye, Ayurveda, yoga, and do it in the most beautiful surroundings with lovely people. <3
