Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 - Battle of Britain Bunker 

Following lunch at the historic Crown and Treaty Pub - Uxbridge, our group will enjoy a private tour of the Battle of Britain Bunker at RAF Uxbridge. This command bunker was the main center point of communication for the Royal Air Force during the crucial days of the Battle of Britain in 1940.  Tour participants will ascend 76 steps down to the historic bunker and then return to the top at the conclusion of the presentation.  Alternatively, there is an excellent video presentation, for those who do not wish to go down to the actual bunker, that tells the story of the facility during the dark days of the Battle of Britain.   

The day will conclude by returning to the MacDonald Windsor Hotel for the evening, where a casual dinner will be served.

Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 - RAF Debden / Bury St. Ednunds

The tour will depart Windsor and travel to the charming country village of Rickling Green for a bite to eat at the Cricketer's Arms Pub.  

Following lunch, a tour of RAF Debden, a principal airbase during the Battle of Britain, that was turned over to U.S. Eighth Air Force Fighter Command in 1942 and became the home of the famed Fourth Fighter Group.  

Now an active British Army installation, the tour will be permitted on base for a tour of this historic Eighth Air Force landmark, with a drive down the actual wartime runways where Fourth Fighter Group Spitfires, Thunderbolts, and Mustangs once operated.

We will then check-in at The Angel Hotel in the village of Bury St. Edmunds with a beautiful three-course dinner in the "Vault" restaurant. that evening.

 Thursday, May 22nd, 2024 - Quidenham / Old Buckenham / Hethel

The day will begin with a drive to St. Andrews Church in the village of Quidenham. This beautiful church was built in the 15th Century, where we will view the "airman's window", which is duplicated in the Chapel of the Fallen Eagles at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.

We continue to Old Buckenham, the home of the 453rd Bomb Group. Flying the Consolidated B-24 Liberator, the 453rd Bomb Group flew in the Eighth Air Force, Second Air Division. Eighth Air Force historian, Mr. James Cleary, will be our host as we tour the excellent Eighth Air Force Heritage Museum, followed by lunch at a local pub, The Gamekeeper.

Following lunch, the tour will visit the fabulous 389th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Hethel.  This wonderful museum is dedicated to the airmen of the famous 389th Bomb Group - "The Sky Scorpions."  

Dinner will be on you own where you will have the chance to explore the charm town of Bury St. Edmunds.

Friday, May 23rd, 2025 - Framlingham memorial Museum / 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum.

The tour will head to Framlingham/Parham Airfield, where we will visit the restored 390th Memorial Tower Museum - Control Tower that now houses this amazing museum. This location is significant as it served as the wartime home of the 390th Bomb Group.

We will then depart for Thorpe Abbotts and the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum where we will have private access to see this incredible tribute to the 100th Bomb Group. The 100th Bomb Group is the featured unit in the Apple TV nine-part mini-series, “Masters of the Air.”

We will have our evening meal at a favorite pub of the airmen of 100th Bomb Group during WWII, the Half Moon Inn, followed by a free evening after returning to the hotel.

Saturday, May 24, 2024 - Bottisham Airfield Museum - Cambridge

The tour will depart the Angel Hotel late morning to provide out tour participants to explore the charming John Appleby rose garden, the Abbey ruins and the beautiful Cathedral of Bury St. Edmunds that are just across the street from the hotel.  Or have a chance to do some shopping in the nearby Bury St. Edmunds High Street.

We will then travel to Bottisham Airfield Museum, the wartime base of the 361st Fighter Group, where participants will have a chance to ride in wartime Willy's jeeps and take a trip around the wartime airfield.

We will conclude the day by checking into the beautiful University Arms Hotel in Cambridge with an incredible three-course evening meal in the opulent Wellington Room.

 Sunday May 25, 2025 - Bassingbourn / Duxford / Free Day in Cambridge

Participants have the option to choose how they’d like to spend their day. 

Tour offerings are to the Imperial War Museum and the 91st Bomb Group airfield at Bassingbourn.  

Alternatively, you can spend the day exploring Cambridge on your own or with a professional tour guide (not included in the tour package price).

Day 8 - Monday, May 26, 2024 - Cambridge American Cemetery Madingley - London

The day will begin with a tour of the Cambridge American Cemetery at Madingley.

Our group will be treated to VIP accommodations at this incredible solemn ceremony with special reserved seating.  This event will surely be an enduring memory for all that attend. as we pay tribute to the 3811 servicemen and servicewomen who rest in the grounds of the cemetery.

Lunch will be served at the nearby The Three Horseshoes pub before departing for London and check in at the Clermont - Charing Cross, with a free evening to explore the city.

Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 - Churchill War Rooms / St. Paul's Cathedral

The day will begin at the Churchill War Rooms beneath the National Treasury Building with a private tour that allows participants to go "behind the glass."

Lunch will be at Café Rouge and we will continue to St. Paul's Cathedral, which includes the American Chapel and the U.S. Roll of Honor.

A fabulous three-course dinner will be served at the Clermont Hotel in the exclusive Trafalgar Room overlooking Th. Strand in London.

Day 10 - Wednesday, May 28th - Free Day in London 

Participants will have the day to explore the sites of this amazing city on their own schedule.

To close out the tour, a farewell dinner will be held at the Clermont Hotel - Charing Cross.

Thursday, May 29th - Departure Day

Participants will be driven directly to their terminal by private car for easy check-in on their return flight to the United States.
