About this trip

Join our handpicked team of leaders in the fields of yoga, mindful movement, visual arts, sound, and meditation for a rejuvenating week choreographed to enliven all your senses — with ample unscheduled time for you to drift easy and soak up the gifts of leisure time at the Ranch. This second running of Feathered Pipe’s homegrown Mindful Unplug Ranch program takes place during the longest days of summer solstice light, when Montana’s wildflowers are in their full glory and the new moon light of this special week will offer us exceptionally brilliant starlit nights.

Move. See. Listen. Relax.

A banquet of options is included in the cost of your program and is yours to enjoy throughout the week. Multiple sessions and activities release tension through yoga and other mindful movement, while skilled guides re-enliven your natural curiosity and experience of seeing and hearing the world to bring your senses back online.

No prior experience with any of the modalities explored is necessary — come as you are and move, see, hear, and breathe your world anew.

Embody Mindfulness with Annie Moyer & Amir Tahami

Annie and Amir’s morning yoga classes blend restorative, therapeutic movement and interpretation of wisdom traditions through imagery, readings, and guided meditations to inspire you in the direction of a fully awake state. Class time will incorporate easily adaptable postures tailored for each individual into simple healing tools to take home for a lifetime. A variety of therapeutic approaches accessed through props, the floor, the wall — and, at times, each other — weave with breath to deposit you in the luscious terrain of clear and conscious presence.

See Anew with Zane Williams

Reconnect with the elemental act of truly seeing your world with celebrated photographer Zane Williams. Educational “See the Light” strolls and hikes at and around the Ranch throughout the week with Zane revitalize your ability to see the world about you and renew your appreciation of how your visual world is shaped by light and shadow, form and gesture. Take in the color and shadow through fresh eyes and learn how they shape our perceptions of what we see in our world, how we see it, and how we feel about it.

Create and Receive the Gift of Sound with Todd Hammes

Gifted sound artist and life-long student of the percussive arts Todd Hammes joins our team of Mindful Unplug guides in 2017 to share his gift of reconnecting us to the world of sound. Using both passive and participatory experience, Todd will guide us to tune into and receive healing vibrations and notes from nature and use nature’s instruments at the Ranch to create sound. Time with Todd is a rare opportunity to explore how the creation of sound, coupled with awareness, positively affect our whole being.

Relaxation Reboot and Happiness Hacks with Anne Jablonski

Daily, guided meditation sessions with Anne help you access your own inner guidance system and tune your mind back to the peace channel. You’ll explore easy breath work, accessible-to-everyone meditation techniques, happiness hacks, and somatic tools informed by neuroscience. Mostly, you’ll remember how to relax again. Anne’s mission is to return you home with skills to plug back in consciously so you can step back into the world of noise and technology equipped to nourish your own health — and apply your consciousness for good of all.

Meet Your Mindful Unplug Experience Team

Movement Guide – Annie Moyer

Based in Arlington, Virginia, Annie Moyer is a well-loved teacher for more than a dozen years at Sun & Moon Yoga Studios in Northern Virginia, where she conveys the authenticity and beauty of yoga in an accessible and inviting way. She is firmly grounded in alignment principles and an avid fan of yoga philosophy, with classes that are moderately paced, light-hearted, and friendly; always open to questions, Annie is masterful at weaving a theme through classes that become tailored precisely to the needs of students. When she’s not teaching public classes or private students, she’s busy working behind the scenes as Director of the Sun & Moon Yoga Studios, and taking deep mindful breaths as mom to twin, teenaged daughters.

Movement Guide – Amir Tahami

Amir stands at the helm as the most senior and followed teacher at, as well as the owner of, the nationally renowned Sun & Moon Yoga Studios in Northern Virginia. In his packed weekly public classes and private one-on-one yoga therapy sessions, he works attentively with students who want an enhanced quality of life through a plainspoken and sensible approach to health and well-being. His innovative techniques blending traditional Indian and Thai yoga influences with restorative postures, therapeutic applications, and somatic movement help students move gently forward on a path of healing, and encourages taking the mindfulness of yoga practice into everyday life. He holds Yoga Alliance’s highest certification level and is also a practitioner of Thai Yoga Therapy. Amir is an avid amateur hockey player, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream to design and build his own custom home, and is also known to herd cats.

Seeing Guide – Zane Williams

Zane is putting down his camera more these days to appreciate his reality unfiltered through a lens and share with others the revelation of truly “seeing” their world. A celebrated and award-winning Wisconsin photographer — and long time friend of the Ranch whose evocative images grace our website — Zane has contributed his photographic skills in volunteer support of international humanitarian projects. Zane paraphrases one of his favorite teachers: “Money and fame may be wonderful, but nothing can compare to the joy of seeing something new.”

Enraptured audiences, fellow musicians and participants in his engaging workshops experience a special connection to the raw energy and sensitivity he possesses. His work includes performances both domestically and abroad, extensive musical composition, and teaching and outreach programs to groups large and small. He has trained with some of the world’s leading percussionists and is a life-long student of the percussive arts. “Through my clinics, workshops, artist residencies and the Hand Drum Exploratorium,” says Todd, “I’ve seen thousands of students become engaged and enthralled by the sheer joy of making music.”
