About this trip

We live in a time of over stimulation. We are constantly going, doing, socializing, creating, and have very little time to focus on ourselves.

This retreat is an opportunity to step away from your everyday routine, to step out of the matrix and into mother nature. Connecting to yourself, and treating yourself with so much care. Giving yourself exactly what you need to feel nourished. This is your time to rest, relax, move your body, release, meditate, and experience pure bliss!

This retreat is for anyone who identifies as she/her or them/they.

Sign up by April 28th to save $100. Prices will increase $150 after this date.

Yoga

Yoga classes will be offered daily. Morning classes will be a moderately paced, vinyasa flow practice with lots of options for all. Evening classes will be gentle and restorative.  All classes include meditation. Classes are open to all levels and all bodies!

Workshops

There will be several different workshops rooted in self cafe and mindfulness throughout the retreat including:  a mala bead making workshop, self care workshop, breathwork workshop, cacao ceremony, sound bath,  and full moon fire ceremony

Day Trip to Cahuita

We will take a day trip to Cahuita to go snorkeling. There’s a beautiful coral reef and lots of  tropical fish.  We will have lunch in town and on the way back stop by the natural, fresh water pools where many locals like to visit.

Food

Three vegetarian meals a day consisting of fresh local fruits and vegetables, fish will be served occasionally.  Fresh coffee, tea, juice, and drinking water will be available throughout the day.  We welcome all dietary restrictions.

Location

Playa Negra is Puerto Viejo’s black sand beach that stretches just over 10 kilometers of volcanic rock sand and crystal clear waters. Often more secluded and quiet than Puerto Viejo’s white sand beaches, it is great for surfing, swimming, or a long beach stroll.

Puerto Viejo is different than the rest of Costa Rica. Puerto meaning port and viejo meaning old, it’s a town full of rich culture, music, afro caribe vibes, and all things Pura Vida. What makes this place unique to Costa Rica is that it is essentially the melting pot of the country with Jamaican and Panamanian immigrants, Indigenous communities, local Costa Ricans, and expats from all over Europe and the Americas.

Accommodations

The modern architecture of Sonora Caribbean Jungle Retreat is created by Italian designers and operated by everyone’s favorite Italian Mommy, Alessandra. It offers elegant interior decorations, the use of fine linen and cotton fabrics, soft colors and warm touches of Caribbean wood. Each room has local art. The designers have put a lot of precision into each object they have chosen, making each room unique and different.

All accommodations are Caribbean style tropical bungalows. Newly built, open air rooms with a private bathroom (hot water shower) and private front porch. All rooms are open air concept with a fan, windows and air conditioning. Sonora Jungle Retreat Center is nestled in a quiet, safe neighborhood, surrounded by nature and is about a 20 minute walk from the beach, Playa Negra.

Rooms will be cleaned daily, and wifi is available all throughout the property.
