We'll depart St. Mary Huntley at 7am, enroute to our first stop... Wally's! Not to be confused with Buc-cee's! This Northern twist on a gas station superstore has something for everyone!
After a quick stop, we'll board the bus and head to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis!
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis is a one-of-a-kind work of Basilica. Known for it's beautiful mosaics and artwork, it is a magnificent church to see. We'll take a tour here and have some time for private prayer before heading to our final destination, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows is located in Belleville, IL, nine miles southeast of St. Louis, Missouri. The Shrine is dedicated to Our Lady, under the title of Our Lady of the Snows. The Shrine is full of holy sites and activities, including the Way of the Cross, a Church and chapel, prayer paths, gardens, and Lourdes grotto. Once we check into the Shrine guest rooms we'll celebrate Holy Mass together, eat dinner as a group, and then take a tour of the Shrine. You'll have the evening free for prayer and reflection, rest, or spending time with new friends.
After breakfast as a group, we'll leave the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and head to the Tomb of Fulton Sheen, located at The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria, IL.
We'll celebrate Holy Mass together, have a guided tour of the Cathedral, then head to the pastoral center for lunch together as we view a film about the life of Fulton Sheen. There will be time to go through the museum and visit the gift shop before we depart for home.
