This perfect day trip to Materuni Waterfall is the most popular destination and wonderful among the Mware River's waterfalls. Also on the outskirts of the Kilimanjaro mountain reserve, near the settlement of Materuni, is where you may find it. The Materuni waterfalls are a must-see location for anyone travelling through the Kilimanjaro area. Its ability to teach you about coffee production and let you take in the local culture, along with the breathtaking natural beauty of the waterfall and its surroundings, make this an experience you won't soon forget.
The day will begin shortly after breakfast with a brief push up the Kilimanjaro slopes to the settlement of Materuni, which is located at an altitude of roughly 1,800 m. This area of beautiful rainforest is credited with producing some of the best coffee in East Africa. Visit a tiny coffee farm first thing in the morning to learn about how the bean is cultivated, harvested, and prepared locally. Try your hand at processing, roasting, and making a delicious cup of coffee the traditional Chagga way. A gorgeous 45-minute walk through the hills and valleys will take you to the waterfalls after you've finished sipping your coffee and all the excellent tea. Your guide will provide additional background information on the adjacent Chagga way of life as well as teach you about the area's flowers and how they may be used for food and traditional medicines as you travel. With cliffs rising up to 200 feet above, the waterfalls are concealed in a beautiful valley. You can relax, eat lunch, and choose to go swimming in the chilly alpine waters as the water falls quickly into a little pool. You can get back in the car and go back to Moshi after climbing the falls. You will definitely enjoy this experience, which is full of attractive instruction, herbal beauty, and, of course, coffee.
