First day of walking. Walking to the town of Porriño passing through the pretty little villages of A Picoña, Ribadelouro and Orbenlle. This stage follows the scenic River Louro through picturesque woodland to Obenlle where you continue walking alongside the river to O Porriño. You will overnight in O Porriño, which has a lovely old town with pink granite architecture.

Today you will pass through the villages of Mos, Santiaguiño and a downhill walk through fields and grapefvines to the lovely town of Redondela often referred to as the town of the viaducts. Redondela is also well know for its cuttlefish (calamari) which your guide will introduce you to during your evening meal. 

Walking through the villages of Cesantes, Arcade before arriving at Pontevedra with its´ ancient churches, wonderful architecture and cafes. You have two hills today (not very steep 100m ascent each one). In the evening you can enjoy tapas and soak up the atmosphere in one of its´charming squares.

You will be walking along country lanes and bridlepaths, over streams and through woodland today. You will pass through the villages of Alba, A Cancela, A Seca, Briallos before arriving at the bustling little town of Caldas de Rey. You will find yourself walking along the Via Romano XIX. Caldas del Rey is a thermal spa-town dating back to the Roman times when it was known as Aquis Celenis. 

Today you will pass through the villages of Carracedo, Casalderrique, Cernadas, O Pino, San Miguel de Valga and Pontecesures before arriving at Padron. You will walk along small roads and woodland paths through small valleys before joining the River Sar which takes you to the town of Padron. You should try the famous Padron peppers whilst you are here which will still be in season.  

Last stretch today through the villages of Iria Flavi, A Escravitude, A Picrañana, Osebe, and Milladoiro before arrving at the Plaza de Obradoiro in front of Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Then it is off to get your certificate (Compostelana) from the Pilgrim´s Office. You are then free to expore the incredible sites of the UNESCO World Heritage old town. In the evening enjoy a Celebratory Dinner with good quality locally prepared galician food and wine.
